New Delhi [India], September 24 (ANI): Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-COVID-19 National Task Force Joint Monitoring Group dropped the usage of Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) drugs from revised clinical guidelines for the management of adult COVID-19 patients.
However, the new guidelines mention the use of Remdesivir and Tocilizumab in specific circumstances.
Among the key guidelines which are routinely stressed include--wearing masks, physical distancing and hand hygiene.
Suggesting a moderate use of other drugs like Remedesivir, the guideline advises the former to be used only in select moderate or severe Covid-19 patients on supplemental oxygen within 10 days of onset of symptom.
For the use of Tocilizumab, the guideline said that to use the medicine only for severe Covid-19 patients, preferably within 24 to 48 hours of the onset of severe disease or ICU admission.
It suggested that those with mild infection must maintain physical distancing, indoor mask use, strict hand hygiene.
It further said that symptomatic patients may take antipyretic, antitussive and multivitamins and asked to seek immediate medical attention if they experience difficulty in breathing or high-grade fever or severe cough, particularly if lasting for more than five.
People with moderate disease with SpO2 level 92-96 per cent (88-92 per cent in patients with Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) may take Methylprednisolone injection and Anticoagulation medicine.
They should work on breathing, Hemodynamic instability and change in oxygen requirement.
As per the guidelines, for the severe infection, the guideline suggests using NIV (Helmet or face mask interface depending on availability) in patients with increasing oxygen requirement, if work of breathing is low.
"Consider the use of HFNC in patients with increasing oxygen requirement, Intubation should be prioritized in patients with high work of breathing /if NIV is not tolerated and Use conventional ARDSnet protocol for ventilatory management," it said.
The guidelines also said to take Methylprednisolone injection of 1 to 2 mg divide into two doses usually for a duration of 5 to 10 days.
It informed that the severe disease or mortality risk is higher in people above age 60, people with Cardiovascular disease, hypertension, Coronary artery disease (CAD), Diabetes mellitus, Chronic lung/kidney/liver disease, Cerebrovascular disease, Obesity and other immunocompromised states. (ANI)
I have a question.
Why does Merck recommend against using their own product, Ivermectin, for COVID?
Before somebody says “because it’s gone generic”, lowering Merck’s profit, I would point out they do still produce it in large qty’s, and in their statement advising against use for COVID, they DO indicate Ivermectin for use against parasitic infections in humans.
I suppose bribery could be involved, but, there are a LOT of people involved in putting out these sorts of recommendations. The bribe would be hard to cover up and maintain, and the money involved would be huge (not to mention the potential monster lost sales, even with competition). The size of the bribe itself would make it hard to conceal for long. Exposed, the parties involved would be dead. I don’t mean jailed, I mean dead. Unless they can get Elon Musk to set ‘em up on Mars, real quick-like.
So, no tin foil theories from our usual FR suspects... What gives? Or is Occam’s Razor in effect? (Merck believes what they say.)

Yes, I agree Ivermectin can work with mild symptoms in the beginning in a very short window. But once infection sets in, pneumonia, or sepsis, Ivermectin is useless and to weak to fight the infections.
Itās a tight ropeā¦ā¦.take Ivermectin when illness first sets in, but, without proper monitoring today they feel ok, tomorrow theyāre having difficulty in breathing.
Each person is effected differently by Covid as we all know.

Folks relying on ivermectin or hydroxchloroquine or quercetin or other meds are taking a serious chance
Folks who claim Covid is hoax are seriously misled at this point

After checking various sites for Remdesivir prices in India and the US, it appears that Gilead Sciences product will be costing around $250 for a five day course of 100 mg. injections, and in the US at least $2,500 for a similar treatment course. Dr. Zelenko’s original treatment course for zinc, HCQ and Azithromycin was about $20, which I verified at the time by searching the products at Google.
It would appear that US big gov. has successfully pressured India to use Remdesivir. Monoclonal antibodies was not even mentioned in the article. Virus killer Zinc has consistently been omitted from 95% of all clinical studies of HCQ treatment for Covid. This is basically like saying, “here is your troop train, but leave your soldiers and guns at home.”
Whatever happened to the Indian bar association case against an Indian doctor who was working at WHO and tried to stop the use of Ivermectin in Utter Pradash and Goa?

When I checked worldometers-Covid-19, about 5 months ago, Sweden was right up there with Great Britian for death’s per million. The figures for Denmark, Norway, and Finland were significantly lower. These 3 countries had apparently been carefully applying masking and social distance, and perhaps also contact tracing which had been effective in Korea. Time to check worldometers again.
Utter Pradash India’s largest state had a low death rate and had been using and giving away Ivermectin to the general public.
Loss of taste and smell is a sign of ZINC deficiency, which occurs when the body uses it up to fight the Covid virus. Dr. Zelenco recommended using 250 mg. zinc for 5 days when ill. I have been taking 50 mg. a day for months now along with Vitamin D, C and some Quercetin for a few days when I have been in a crowded social situation
Denmark actually did not use masks. All the Scandi countries initially rejected mask use but Finland and Norway changed course and implemented the masks in late 2020 when the worldwide second wave started hitting. Sweden and Denmark stuck to their guns and did not push masking.
You must understand that there are many countries where bribery is a widely accepted way of life, and India is one of those countries. For many in those countries a bribe that would not seem large to us would be a substantial windfall. I doubt that many are killed in such countries because they accept bribes.
I decided to check out the Merck/Ivermectin situation. See link below. There is a link in the article called “clinicaltrials.gov”. It should be checked to see doses the various trials are using. Other studies I looked at were using 2 and 4 units per kilo of body weight. At this posting someone recommended using 6 units. If that was correct information, then the studies I saw earlier were not using enough to be fully effective.
