The sensationalist headline emphasized sex change operations. However, that was only one piece of the much wider areas covered. Here is a direct quote from the article: “These “sensitive” services include abortions, sexual assault treatment, drug abuse and mental health treatment, cross-sex hormones, puberty blockers, and sex-change operations. In California, minors can consent to all of these sensitive treatments after the age of 12 under certain conditions, and consent to abortions at any age.”
In 83 years of living, and 10 earning my living as a counselor of people with serious emotional issues, I have never encountered the issue of juvenile sex change operations. The first 3 issues mentioned in the quote are issues I have encountered a number of times both stic a therapy situation and just in the course of knowing people. The last 3 issues I have never encountered in a therapy related situation and only a few times in people I have encountered, and then only in connection with adults. This is why I characterize the headline as sensationalistic. You have heard of “click bait” The headline counts as “outrage bait.”

It would be ironic if one of Gov. Newsom’s own children decides to do this in a few more years. Only then will he and his wife get it. This is not a ‘Dem vs GOP’ topic at all.
