I believe they are also called Respiratory Techs.

There are thousands of them. They work in many hospitals all across the U.S.

They are trained to deal exclusively with lung disorders and the treatments for them.

Thanks. I forgot about that term.

Come to think of it, the person in the ICU called herself a Respiratory Therapist, so that’s another term.
