Maybe the more freedom-minded states and provinces could join up to make a free country and the more socialist parts of the U.S. and Canada could join up to make a big basket-case of a country.

I would have said Canada is a socialist European nation in the Western Hemisphere. Given the spunk shown by the Europeans, especially the French, as of late that would be an insult to the good people of Europe.

I’ve thought about that: the west coast states minus AK with British Columbia, IL NY and MN with Ontario, Quebec by itself, New England with the Maritimes, with the “flyover states” with the prairie provinces. It would take an awful lot of diplomacy...
