NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas criticized the NFL’s decision to play the Black national anthem before the 2021 season-opening and radio host Jason Whitlock told "Fox & Friends Weekend" that he agrees there’s a conversation to be had.
Whitlock spoke with Thomas in an interview Thursday, as part of the "Fearless with Jason Whitlock" podcast, where the former basketball star suggested that playing both national anthems is only dividing the country instead of unifying it.
"He was pointing out the obvious that I think we all agree on," Whitlock said. "You can’t have two national anthems if you want to be one country."
The radio host said his two-hour conversation with Thomas focused largely on racial division in the U.S. and how "race is a false construct" to get ahead of.
"Anybody that’s a rational person realizes two national anthems is unhealthy," he said. "It’s not unifying."

Bttt
Indeed
"Anybody that’s a rational person realizes two national anthems is unhealthy," he said. "It’s not unifying."
"Unhealthy"??
It's intentionally devisive and becomes treasonous when allowed to continue with no repercussion. And this time there will be none. Whites are out of placating, self-deprecating solutions. BLM will never be satisfied and so whites will segregate themselves accordingly. I tell you from my heart, there is only one way to find peace and that is through Jesus Christ. He can and will make all things new. This very generation will behold a God for whom all things are possible. We were, each of us, born for such a time.
I could care less what the National Felon League does. I use to be a big football fan, but the second the kneeling started that was it for me. Haven’t watched a game since and never will. The NFL is beyond dead to me.
Black conservatives may be the only hope to save our nation. Black Americans want the same thing as White Americans for themselves and their families. Many are recognizing that the Democrat Party has become far too leftist.
What is new is the ruling class promoting it.
Unification is definitely not on their agenda.
Be careful what you wish for, folks. Hmm...
There is a growing push from the “blue” partisans for a two-state solution for the “red/blue” divide in this country, the “red” portion becoming a truncated continuing edition of the original concept of the American Spirit, and the “blue” portion splitting off and becoming a number of small enclave states within the larger territory, many of them distant and non-contiguous from the others.
I kind of like that idea, myself, a divorce of the two philosophies, and like West and East Germany, or North and South Korea, the two competing versions of the governing bodies can then exercise the most salient points of their chosen frame of economics, legal structures, and manner of selection of leaders.
The “national anthem” of these nationless people is to pretend they don’t assimilate voluntarily (since the last 50 years have made it clear many simply can’t). They were better off before the welfare state was created to destroy their families and the workfare state was strengthened (through teachers’ unions) to destroy their education.
Good luck with putting your hopes in black people saving our country.
You should come to Philly, Camden, Chester, Wilmington, Baltimore, etc.
The black people of those cities do not want what I want.
The perpetual grievance industry is never going away.
Oh, they’ll solve that problem eventually, but guess which one will be the anthem?
WGAF. Jason Aldean’s “Fly Over States” is my national anthem.
Only one way to get rid of the notion of “two.”
Let the people know that the “Black Anthem” was composed by a BLACK CONSERVATIVE.
End of problem.
Recall thomas said Bird got special attention because he was white.
Exactly why its being pushed.
The left don't want no stinkin' unity!
If the USA needed a Second Anthem it should be George M. Cohan’s YOU’RE A GRAND OLD FLAG.
Black anthems, Polish, Italian, Swedish, Various African, Indian, Afghanistan, English anthems not needed here.
Playing two different National Anthems at a sporting event is a curtesy done for the fans when two different countries are competing against each other, like the United Stares and the Soviet Union.
God Bless You and Welcome to Free Republic. :-)
“You can’t have two national anthems if you want to be one country.”
Perhaps you can’t be one country, even if you want to be.
