The title is a little misleading since the Miken factory is owned by Rawlings Sporting Goods, which in turn is owned by a private equity firm, Seidler Equity Partners, and MLB Properties.

It's not as if the current Commissioner, Robert Manfred and his front office buddies were responsible for that decision....

So it was cheaper for a company to ship lumber across the pacific, have it sliced and glued into a board, shipped back over the pacific and then sent to retailers comapred to having a factory in Washington or Oregon.

You paid full price and they kept the "savings".

China has put tariffs on American-made goods, too. About 58% of US exports to China are affected, with an average rate of 21%.
