Politico Reveals Full Acceptance of Social Media Censorship

You might expect (in sane times) the press would be in favor of more freedom of speech. Instead, Politico is not only uncritically covering social media justifications for censorship, they also appear unfazed about the government getting into the Big Brother act as well.

This was the message promulgated by "tech lobbying and influence" reporter Emily Birnbaum on Thursday in "4 takeaways from POLITICO’s first tech summit." The first (and most important) takeaway for Politico is censorship, censorship, and MORE censorship! The subtitle of the article is "Self-regulation isn’t going to cut it, according to lawmakers and advocates."

From a speech by Brit star Rowan Atkinson [2012] when speaking about free speech repression in the UK.

"That is what you might call The New Intolerance, a new but intense desire to gag uncomfortable voices of dissent. ‘I am not intolerant’, say many people; say many softly spoken, highly-educated, liberal-minded people: ‘I am only intolerant of intolerance’. And people tend to nod sagely and say ‘Oh, Wise words, wise words’ and yet if you think about this supposedly inarguable statement for longer than five seconds, you realize that all it is advocating is the replacement of one kind of intolerance with another."

"The clear problem with the outlawing of insult is that too many things can be interpreted as such. Criticism is easily construed as insult by certain parties. Ridicule is easily construed as insult. Sarcasm, unfavourable comparison, merely stating an alternative point of view to the orthodoxy can be interpreted as insult. Nine years on and the trend remains and is visibly getting WORSE!

Politico, The Hill and a few others have become total tools for Pretend-esident's puppeteering regime, utterly destroying any former legitimacy they may have had as news sources. Seems they went all for nothing and chose poorly like the ancient knight said in "The Last Crusade". Like those villains they'll go skittering off into a rift to Hell as their eventual reward.
