I suspect this deal has been in the works for quite awhile.
It certainly was not negotiated in the last month or two.
That fact is that Electric Boat or General Dynamics and a whole bunch of other defense contractors just got a big order.
Several BILLION in sales of nuclear submarines is kinda a BIG F&N DEAL.
So, we can poo poo it because Biden is a dope. However, jobs in the defense industry actually pay pretty well and employ primarily AMERICANS.

Also, we should be glad that Australia is actually stepping up to defend their part of the world instead of relying on the UNITED STATES NAVY to defend the other side of the world.
AGAIN, this is something we have been saying on this board for years. Why should we have to defend Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, The Philippians, Europe and the Middle East.
