Though high vaccination rates may be spelling the end of the COVID-19 pandemic in Marin County, the county may never truly see the end of the disease, a public health official told the Board of Supervisors Tuesday.
While only 68.3 percent of Californians are fully vaccinated, 90.1 percent of Marin County residents over the age of 12 are fully vaccinated, and 96.9 percent have received at least one dose.
Still, Santora said, breakthrough cases reported in individuals with all three types of the vaccine administered in the United States — Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson — indicate that COVID-19’s presence in the county is far from over.
Yearly COVID-19 vaccinations could become as widespread and easily accessible as flu shots and help combat emerging variants.

Just like they are now, eh?
Bwa ha ha ha
I live in San Anselmo and it’s completely 100% sheep here where I live
They even VAX all their kids it’s so pathetic
I don’t even give any of the regular vaccines to my kids and they’re trying to fight me over it and make them do it to go to school
I’ve been successful in my fight so far but they’re really ratcheting up the pressure now
No shots no school
My son really wants to still go to high school with his friends and says he’s willing to take his chances and he’s like 190 pounds now so I’m not that worried about it
Still why should any of my kids ever have to have any of these stupid poison shots
SCREW this crap
If they try to mandate the Covid VAX my kids are out of school the next day
Money. Money. Money.
For drug companies, and politician donations in perpetuity...
12-15 y/o were given EUA approval the day 16+ got full approval.

“Betadine has now come out and said dont gargle with their product for covid”
This, after it was found that betadine had an effect on the virus??!!??
I’m in Marin County. Here are current statistics. https://coronavirus.marinhhs.org/surveillance One odd thing is that the age group 75+ seems to be doing best in not getting Covid.
This part of California is a cesspool of depravity and moral bankruptcy, one can only hope the Covid does it’s job well there.
Exactly.
Well, he tried, but he wasn’t as successful...yet. He’ll get there.
So off topic, but you live in a beautiful area. I went there to visit. Even the weeds are pretty.
Back to the topic, yes, such sheep. It’s so sad.
Actually I was pleasantly surprised by Marin county last year when it came to teachers unions and school reopenings. I followed CA school reopening issues closely last year and after the red rural areas, these were the best at prevailing over the teachers unions: Marin county, Placer county, Carmel, Malibu, and some parts of Orange County/San Diego. Parents REALLY care about in person education in those areas and/or in very wealthy areas. Many probably switched to private and governesses and pod arrangements too.
I was out for a nice hike in the hills at Rodeo Beach in late summer 2020 with my daughter and her boyfriend. I sat on a park bench facing the ocean and struck up a conversation with a nice gentlemen about my age (late 60s) while waiting for my daughter and boyfriend to get back from the restrooms. I was sitting there unmasked and I think he was too.
His wife showed up and began haranguing me mercilessly about not wearing a mask. There we were, outdoors, 35 yards from the ocean, with a stiff breeze coming off the ocean, and a sparking ocean and sunny blue sky. Beautiful day.
I decided I'd toy with her and made some remark about her really believing masks were doing any good, especially outdoors with the stiff breeze. Well, you'd think I'd call Mrs. Insane a snowflake or worse. Her screeching jumped up 10 decibels into full lunatic range. She screamed "Where are you from?" and I calmly replied "Here" (actually Santa Clara County).
She was about to pop a blood vessel in her brain when her hubby grabbed her by the arm and calmly escorted her away. Thank God he did for I didn't want to see her gray matter splattered all over the place.
Marin County has lots of insane people, for sure!
Not very obvious. There are several possibilities https://www.chop.edu/centers-programs/vaccine-education-center/vaccine-safety/antibody-dependent-enhancement-and-vaccines with ADE being the worst case. Most likely we are looking at scenario 2 where the vaccine does not prevent illness in some or perhaps many people. Obviously no vaccine is perfect, the only question is how imperfect.
Great story—the Karens are deeply disturbed in that little corner of the world.
If it was the 1600s in Salem they would have burned as witches for sure!
The numbers to watch are future hospitalizations—gotta give the vaxx side effects time to kick in—and of course the vaxxes will lose their effectiveness as well....
First I heard of that. I looked it up and found this in "Men's Health" yesterday:
Snorting and Gargling Iodine to Fight Covid-19 Is a Really Bad IdeaWell, if the concern is intestinal upset, then that seems to undercut the reason for ever using the product at all, even for occasional sore throat!"Iodine is a disinfectant," says William Schaffner, M.D., professor of preventive medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. "Its use has [slowed down] because even on scratches and cuts, its effectiveness has been debated. There's no data that this would be effective for Covid."
Avrio Health, the makers of Betadine, has also intervened in the online conversation around the use of its product as an alternative Covid treatment, stating "Betadine Antiseptic Sore Throat Gargle is only for the temporary relief of occasional sore throat. Betadine Antiseptic products have not been demonstrated to be effective for the treatment or prevention of COVID- 19 or any other viruses."
Dr. Schaffner's biggest fear is the ingestion of the product, whether accidentally or intentionally, in one's attempt to mitigate a Covid infection. "You can really get intestinal upset with nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea [with iodine]," says Dr. Schaffner. "And nobody wants that." In short, save the iodine for a paper cut, not Covid.
It sounds to me like the company might have received a "cease and desist" letter from the FDA telling them to not push their product as effective against COVID.
Other sites say people are "ingesting" Betadine. Sounds like the same insane crap the media was pulling when they claimed Trump was telling people to "ingest" bleach.
That lunatic Karen was certainly ready to burn ME at the stake for not joining in her game.
