Anyone in the U.S. with friends or family in China knew it was going around in December 2019.
The “defector” part makes it sound like this was some sort of state secret. Our State department knows nobody living in China?

From what I have read, at first the Chinese officials didn’t realize what they were dealing with. They thought people had the regular flu.
And then the Chinese New Year came around, lots of folks in Western Canada and the States went to visit their families, many who lived in Wuhan. They brought it back to North America when they returned home. At least that’s what I believe.
And yes, guns do equal freedom. Too bad the Aussies didn’t learn that in time.
