The Atlanta Jewish Times has removed an op-ed by a black conservative activist and former Georgia state legislator who has appeared at events also attended by controversial right-wing figures.
The piece by Vernon Jones was titled “How one Jewish family shaped my views: Vernon Jones recalls the family that inspired him to speak up for Jewish Americans.” It was removed from the newspaper’s website on Wednesday night after a Jewish staffer for Stacey Abrams, the prominent voting rights activist in Georgia, called it “disgusting” on Twitter.
“Literally during the Days of Awe, @AtlJewishTimes is platforming a far-right extremist who held multiple rallies *LAST YEAR* with antisemites Alex Jones and holocaust denier Nick Fuentes, along with the head of the Proud Boys and other white supremacists,” Marisa Pyle said.

Interesting to see that. Michael Morris, their publisher, is pretty conservative. He’s Bernie Marcus’s stepson, Bernie raised him from age 10 or so.

A bit off topic, but on Mark Levin’s show when Jon Voight was guest, Jon explained why and how he became so pro-Israel. Very interesting.
Belying the stereotype that that awful Albert Einstein perpetuates with his Theory of Relativity, and all those Nobel Prize winners. Who can live up to all that? So somebody’s got to take a bullet and be stupid. And there are many, many volunteers.
Sadly, the idea that their right-wing Christian countrymen are their greatest enemy is a pathology within the American Jewish culture. It doesn’t make any sense, and the lion’s share of Israelis know that it’s nonsense (i.e., it ain’t right-wing Christians launching rockets over the walls from Gaza, etc.), but it’s a mythology that innumerable American Jews buy into. Perhaps it’s a lingering artifact of Eastern European pogroms of 150 years ago, I don’t know. It’s somewhat analogous to how so many black Americans are convinced that most white cops are secret Klansmen ready to lynch them if given half a chance. It’s irrational and outdated, but every subculture has its unifying myths and bogeymen.

...And that is a repulsive and very OLD Anti-Semitic canard.
It’s not very much of a leap from that to the idea that Jews “deserved what they got”.
If a bunch of soldiers are pointing guns at you and telling you to get on the train, and your single choice is the train or a bullet, what do you pick?
As ancient Jews decided to worship the golden calf, many modern Jews worship socialism and globalism.

Actually, those soldiers were pointing guns at the Jews who were put on the list for deportation prepared by the Judenrat, who then notified them to show up at the train station. The Judenrat did this clerical dirty work, because otherwise, they would have been beaten to death very ingloriously, and the true nature of the deportation orders, to death camps and slave labor, was well hidden even from them. That is the basis from which the “canard” originates. Like many “canards” it has a tangential relationship to the truth, but only tangential.
But returning to the editorial board of the Atlanta Jewish Times. It was cowardly to cave to the likes of Stacy Abrams, yes. But that’s comparable to the Judenrat’s cowardice, in that it has no relationship to death camps, but it is part of the slippery slope towards fascism to which modern society is heading. One day, there may be death camps. For right now, there is the suppression of dissent and open debate which is becoming ubiquitous and is always dangerous. And damn them and damn Stacy Abrams for it.

They are more bothered by Christians trying to (voluntarily) convert them and their children, than they are about getting wiped out financially or having their heads sliced off.
And like many groups, they have the “My Daddy is Cop” syndrome here - where they know that conservatives will protect them (much as the cop’s kid always gets out of trouble after breaking the law), just to save their own skin, so they can go out and take the moral high ground (in this case, voting for destruction of the US, knowing that Christians will prevent it). The problem with that attitude is that eventually daddy is around anymore, or isn’t strong enough to protect them...and then they face the consequences of their behavior.
What happened to the Jews of Europe was horrible. No one can deny that. But how many American Jews would object if the same happened to American conservatives?

This is a popular tactic - “second handing.” You attack the target for “associating” with someone who you really crank up the libels and falsehoods about. That way, you aren’t directly attacking the target.
