Denying the plain truth that Fauci lied will only make things worse.
They will keep lying about it, and then another news cycle will change the topic. There is almost never any consequence for government workers, especially high ranking ones, except the few who have the humility to resign. When they stick around too long they end up engaged in turf wars, self-dealing and cover-ups.
