Just plant trees, they accomplish the same objective. Except they require no (human) maintenance. Just replace them when they grow old and die ... three or four hundred years from now.

We already do this on a massive scale. We call them “trash landfills”.

All your organic trash, including paper and cardboard, has a lot of carbon by weight. So does your plastic trash. We currently bury huge amounts of carbon every year.
