AUSTIN (KXAN/Texas Tribune) — The Texas chapter of the NAACP, along with the civil rights organization’s University of Texas at Austin chapter and a group of anonymous students, has filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights alleging UT Austin is creating a “hostile environment” for Black students by continuing to play the “The Eyes of Texas” alma mater song at university events.
The complaint, filed Friday morning, alleges Black students have been denied full benefits of Longhorn student life, because the song is an official part of the university, “despite its racially offensive origin, context and meaning.”

THE EYES OF BIDEN ARE UPON YOU!...............
Why did they enroll if it’s such a racist institution?
How about a civil rights complaint against the Oxford English Dictionary. It is replete with racist words, language, and insinuations.
So a group that doesn’t allow white people in it is claiming racism...
Every “ university “ is guilty of some perceived outrage by the terminally offended.
It’s as predictable as night following day.
Two sigma to the left on a Bell curve.
The Texas administration will cave.
The protesters are their fellow travelers.
“Your honor, these Woke people deliberately make an effort to find things to be offended by. In some cases it is how they earn a living. They are not oppressed, they’re race grievance hustlers. People who have time to feel oppressed by microaggressions are not oppressed at all, not even one jot.”
… is how arguments should proceed.
Eventually admitting white people will constitute a hostile environment.
Smacks of Black Supremacy!
So what! My school, the University of Pittsburgh’s alma mater is sung to the melody of “Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles,” the Nazi theme song. It’s been the alma mater for over a hundred years.
I think it was originally a Haydn opus.
Lots of “Pennsylvania Dutch” around those parts and east of there.
I once did know a President,
Away down South, in Texas.
And, always, everywhere he went,
He saw the eyes of Texas.
The Eyes of Texas are upon you,
All the live long day.
The Eyes of Texas are upon you,
You can not get away.
Do not think you can escape them
At night or early in the morn
The Eyes of Texas are upon you
‘Till Gabriel blows his horn.
Sing me a song of Prexy,
Of days long since gone by.
Again I seem to great him
And hear his kind reply.
Smiles of gracious welcome
Before my memory rise,
Again I hear him say to me,
“Remember Texas’ Eyes.”

Lyrics
The wording of the song is as follows.[6]
The Eyes of Texas are upon you,
All the livelong day.
The Eyes of Texas are upon you,
You cannot get away.
Do not think you can escape them
At night or early in the morn —
The Eyes of Texas are upon you
Til Gabriel blows his horn.
College students are often moved to resist tradition and want to reshape institutions. At my alma mater there was a culture of harassment of minorities. I played a role in reform but I look back decades later and see the generations since didn’t just build on the work we did, they have undermined the positive parts of the institution’s culture in the name of “woke.” It’s not the only institution to go that way.
Back in the day, those of us working for good just wanted fellow students to be safe from violence, threats of violence, secure in their persons and property so we could all focus on the education we were paying considerable tuition to get.
Indeed they will. There is not a more loony left public university in the state.
When woketards claim something is racist, simply tell them it isn’t, and to mind their own business. When they refuse, a punch in the nose should be forthcoming.
It’s not so much that, it’s the simpletons’ thrill of joy at finding some injustice to be conquered. It feeds their insufferable self-righteousness the schools teach them to have. Those jokers who had that rock removed from that college genuinely believe their idiocy was a major triumph of virtue
Does anyone know what happened to the statue of Lawrence Sullivan Ross at the Texas A&M Campus? There was a recent leftist demand to have it removed, since he was once a general in the Confederate Army.
