California once was run by conservatives and mostly centrist Democrats.
True paleo-liberal governors like Pat Brown greatly expanded the welfare state. But they also believed in pushing integration and building freeways, dams, aqueducts and power plants, while preventing forest fires, directing the mentally ill into state hospitals, and ensuring that the state enhanced the housing, timber, oil and gas, nuclear and agricultural industries.
So, why would anyone deliberately destroy that heritage?
Why allow California to have the highest aggregate basket of income, sales, property and capital gains taxes in the nation, the highest gas and power prices in the continental United States, and nearly the worst schools and infrastructure? California also has the country's largest populations of homeless, welfare recipients and undocumented immigrants
Remember that the left wing of the Democratic Party became hyper-wealthy through globalization and the tech revolution. Coastal universities such as Caltech, Stanford, UC Berkeley, USC, and UCLA became global nexuses of millions who flocked to California to learn business, engineering, science, math and the professions.
University endowments were no longer measured in the hundreds of millions of dollars but in the billions.
Hollywood and professional sports now had a lucrative worldwide audience of billions.
The market capitalization of Silicon Valley was to be measured in the trillions of dollars, as the world bought iPhones, iPads and MacBooks to do Google searches, tweet and use Facebook. The result was the greatest concentration of wealth in such a small space in the history of civilization.

If he becomes Governor, Elder will be impeached and removed by the California legislature very quickly. They are not going to share power.
It could, but it won't. It's still California and Elder is still a Trump Republican. I don't see him winning.
It’s very possible Elder will get more votes but will never see the governor’s mansion. Zero possibility of a fair election, zero possibility of removing Newsom.
I do wish Elder had a realistic chance. With each passing day, it appears Newsom will survive the recall by a fairly wide margin. But, we shall see.

actually is a possibility. but in the end doing this would help to destroy the grip of power they demarcates have on the state. the best thing as conservatives we can do is to present them opportunities to act heavy handed in there pursuit to hold on to power. The idea is to alienate the party from its base support.
This election is catered to dem cheating. The fix is in and proof of that is cameltoe and joe going there to campaign. They would not be sent there if there was a chance that Newsome would lose. They want to be able to point to this election as a referendum on jo and the ho.
Good point. I figured at the very least, Larry would incurr a tsunami of lawsuits, injunctions, etc. by the DNC legislature, judges, and leftist lobby groups, and essentially hamstring his every move.

The only way he wins is if the recall wins. If Newsom isn't recalled then there's no need for a replacement.
It's California. You could have the fairest election in recorded history and there is still no way a Trump Republican wins.

I disagree. I think you vastly underestimate the level of election fraud that routinely happens in unchecked blue precincts all over America. Ballot harvesting is a ham handed, laughable fraud. Everyone knows it but it stole the house in ‘18. What level of mail in ballots is expected? Anything over 15% is rife with fraud.
