NRCC reshuffles fundraiser schedule, Trump to get top billing

The GOP's House campaign arm is shuffling its winter fundraising schedule, putting Donald Trump in front of its top financial backers for its annual dinner.

Driving the news: The National Republican Congressional Committee told donors on Tuesday afternoon that "circumstances beyond our control" forced the cancellation of its major December retreat in New York City, according to an email obtained by Axios.

Sources familiar with the situation told Axios those circumstances included logistical questions regarding timing as well as lingering COVID-19 restrictions.

An hour after the email to donors, Punchbowl News reported a substitute event to be headlined by the former president.

What we're hearing: Trump and his team were told the fundraiser, now slated to take place Nov. 8-9 in Tampa, Florida, will be a continuation of the annual NRCC dinner at which he spoke the first three years of his presidency.

They wanted Trump to be marginalized, ostracized, exiled like Nixon.

But they have failed.

The NRCC is still totally corrupt. They fake supporting Trump now. They want no part of him or us.

I donate a little to the state Republican Party.

I told the NRCC, before the election was stolen, exactly what I thought of them and their betrayal. Also told them I may never again send them anything again. (they still call me and mail me crap.) But it is less frequent than it was.

I hate the District of Corruption (aka DC).

Or is Trump continuing to act as if he is controlled opposition — https://nationalfile.com/breaking-liz-cheney-ally-harriet-hageman-who-trump-is-expected-to-endorse-tied-to-effort-to-steal-his-2016-nomination/ — while his supporters continue to excuse it as his simply making mistake after mistake after mistake?

"...his supporters continue to excuse it as his simply making mistake after mistake after mistake..."

I take it to mean you aren't a supporter of President Trump.

“...while his supporters continue to excuse it as his simply making mistake after mistake after mistake?”

Considering what he and his family gave up and had to go through, he gets a free pass from me for many, many, more ‘mistakes’. In this case, it’s not yet a done deal, by the way.

As to Hagman, I’d like to know more. Most people don’t know that Cheney was supportive of Trump AFTER he got elected and has a very conservative voting record. She only lost her chemical balance when Trump called the election stolen...so pictures of Hagman with Cheney prior to the 2020 election don’t mean jack to me, as Cheney was in the Republican leadership with a last name that was a household word.

The Cheneys are corrupt Deep Staters all the way.

And Trump’s nominating almost all the wrong people to significant posts within his admin (and then too often listening to them) is what has led us to medical tyranny and the ongoing destruction of our country.

(And as to his family, Jared and Ivanka were among the worst, most liberal influences in his admin.)

You’re welcome to hate Trump, but most here know that Cruz or anyone else, would have had their head handed to them by Hillary. So I’ll stick with supporting Trump.

As to the people Trump surrounded himself with, I guess we’ll never know what freedom Trump had to choose - the entire GOP in DC is corrupt as hell, and there were always more than enough RINOs in the Senate to sink ANY of his nominations...so did Trump have much choice, I doubt it.

I supported Trump from the primary through 2020. I also will likely support him again, since he seems destined to run again and win at least the nomination.

But that doesn’t mean my and other Freepers’ eyes shouldn’t be open to what’s up.

That’s good to hear...but regardless, he did what he could, given the bipartisan HATRED directed at him.

I strongly disagree on that, but so it goes. McConnell didn’t force him to rely on Kushner as a primary advisor, for example.

They’ll take any money he can beat out of the bushes, then
frag him untill the next fundraiser.
