New U.S. Guidelines Ban Network-Connected Voting Systems, Acknowledging Vulnerability to Attack
Just The News via NOQ Report ^ | 09/08/2021

After years of warnings about state-sponsored hackers and the contentious end of the 2020 election, the federal commission that sets the standards for American voting machines has made a major change rather quietly: Going forward, vote systems cannot be connected to any digital networks, and wireless technology must be disabled too.

The Election Assistance Commission’s Voluntary Voter System Guidelines 2.0 were released earlier this year without much fanfare and nominal media coverage, even though they were the first major revisions since 2015 and the first complete overhaul since VVSG 1.0 was issued 16 years ago.

The last guidelines from 2015 permitted connectivity to what was called “public telecommunications networks,” provided that any data transmitted was encrypted and network-connected machines were able to “preserve the secrecy of voter ballot selections and prevent anyone from violating ballot privacy.” Outside the guidelines, however, EAC urged election administrators and voting machine makers through certification reviews to avoid direct connections to the internet to have the best practices.

The new requirements provide a much more draconian ban on external access to the Internet or other computer networks, a security provision otherwise known as an “air gap.” The commission specifically cited the potential threat posed by foreign adversaries […]

I thought these laws that prevented voting machines from being connected to the networks were already on the books.

If so, another law won’t prevent this from happening again in the future.

So when do the free voting partisans of the woke and Democratic Party start bellyaching that Changing voting rules for electronic tally systems now is wrong? My sarcasm bone in my big toe is tingling.

This won’t help if Deep State can just have someone use a thumb drive.

What is wrong is the the crappy training and poor handling procedures that county and state hacks allow to happen. It too much trouble to ensure competent work. I will assume most people working elections are good and apolitical but enough jerks are out there to damage voter turnout and cause skepticism of all voting in the USA.

It’s the domestic adversaries that worry me more.

New Jersey voting machines (in our towns anyway) are connected to a power source and nothing else. No internet or phone access. When opening the machine in the morning, it prints out a “zero proof” document, showing the candidates and questions, and if any votes are already in place. If everything does not read zero we are to call the county board and report it. If it shows zero each of us board workers signs off on it; it goes in the bag to be returned to the clerk.

I have worked the polls for about thirty years and never had a machine show other than zero. I fail to see how it could be made to “flip” votes, unless hundreds of technicians were working on jiggering the machines while in storage between elections. The county doesn’t HAVE hundreds of techs, let alone them all being RAT operatives!

Also, the machines keep a running count of the number of votes cast, so dumping in hundreds of fraudulent ballots is not an option. Each voter receives a voter authority slip which is given to the machine operator. The number of slips must match the number on the running count at closing. At the close of the polls, the machine prints out the totals. We all sign off on them and they go into the bag.

The bag, with any provisional (paper) ballots is returned to the clerk’s office, usually by 8:30 or so. The clerk adds the district totals and reports them to the county clerk.

Someone can always find a way to cheat, but not on the scale of millions of fake mail-ins!

Now that everyone agrees the voting machines were connected to the internet, will all those who lied about this under oath go to jail for perjury?

The Dominion, ES&S, and Hart InterCivics executives?
The Federal election officials?
The Democrat and RINO lawmakers?

They all conspired to lie under oath - over and over again.

Paper ballots have their limitations too. A RAT operative working the polls can swap out the contents of the bag-box etc. from reliably R districts for premade fake ballots during transport from district to municipal or county clerk.

Speaking for myself, nowhere near apolitical; but never a thought of cheating! That would make us THEM!

And who will pull the RJ-11 jack? Who will set up cell phone jammers at voting places to enforce this? This is just more of “too little, too late”. They GOT Trump. They “won”. We “lost”. They cheated to do it? Too bad. We should have stopped it beforehand. The Republic is lost. Get over it. Start working toward what’s next.
