Agree. It’s the same kind of personal information as if he walked into the class and announced his penis size.
You seem to think it is okay for teachers to share details of their sexual preferences and habits with the children in their classes.
Perhaps your philosophy on these issues is not consistent with most on FR. Maybe you would be more comfortable somewhere else?

You never addressed my actual point, which is that the LGBT flag does NOT simply represent who someone has sex with. If YOU see sex everywhere you look, that's your problem. If I see evidence that this teacher was pushing some deviant sexual behavior on his students, fire him. But if having a symbol in a presentation is his only crime, he's going to sue and he's going to win.

Also a UMC grad 1974. Equally naive since I was 19 at the time and from a rural community. Learned a bit in my next year in grad school. But really got an education as HR manager at the VA Hospital in Columbia. I’m sure nothing compared to San Francisco. Still, teachers have no business talking to students about their sex lives or sexual preferences.

I am apprently pretty screwed up. Loved going to school in long sleeves to hide the bruises on my arms, courtesy of my mother. I have asked Jesus Christ to help me forgive her, but it is hard.

No matter what the issue of disagreement, NO teacher is in any position to discuss his sexuality to students. Highly, highly inappropriate. He needs to be fired.
In all my years in public school (1970’s), not a single one of my teachers ever discussed his/her spouse or what they preferred sexually. Ever. I just remember one teacher getting married because her name changed.
And if Teacher #2 was female? What then?
Unfortunately true. I’ve read schools are giving details on perverse sexual practices. Oh, gee, why?
