PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland City Council has postponed a vote on an emergency resolution banning the purchase of goods & services from Texas in protest of the state’s new law banning most abortions.
Last week, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler said a resolution could be voted on come Wednesday and if approved, would be in effect until Texas either withdraws the law or has it overturned in court. The trade ban would also bar city employees from traveling to Texas.
Within the last 24 hours, Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick responded to this proposed boycott.
He's previously tweeted, "It’s comical that Portland mayor @tedwheeler is worried about Texas when his city defunded the police and he had to ask citizens to “take back the city.” Texas is solidly #prolife and Texans support law enforcement. Meanwhile, Portland is a dumpster fire and Texas is thriving."
KATU has reached out to Mayor Ted Wheeler's office for reaction, and we are waiting to hear back.

I think that essentially, Dan Patrick told Portland to stick it where the sun don’t shine.
The latest liberal crybaby tool.
Can’t possibly be lawful !

When KATU reached out to Mayor Ted Wheeler's office for comment they responded that it was very rude of Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick to notice
"All people should have the right to choose whether or not to kill a baby, but not the right to choose whether or not to travel to Texas."
Texas wines continue to improve every year, I think they're a well kept secret outside the Lone Star State. When I take out of state family and friends to Lost Oak Winery, they are surprised at the quality, and blown away by the prices.
I was born in Oregon City, but I've been a naturalized Texan for 45 years.
It’s no. Only congress can regulate interstate commerce.
Eh, here’s an idea, what if everyone refused to sell or deliver goods and services to Portland?
Rude of him to notice? LOL. That dude sounds like he is woke. I doubt Dan Patrick gives a shiite what that POS thinks about anything.
Not buying anything from Texas? Have fun with no gas or petroleum products.
And I love Texas oil. I buy it by the gallon.
Unless Portland includes an exemption in their policies, they will miss having fuel produced in Texas. Somehow I think Portlanders will come up with a rationalization so they don't have to do without.
Ted, send your Antifa to riot in Texas. They will learn the meaning of One Riot, One Ranger.......
Please pass the law that your idiots cannot come here.
Born in Pendleton. It’s amazing the stupidity the good folks of Oregon have to face due to a couple of high populace cities. East of the Cascades is a whole different world, a world with no voice.
Not only east but all of southern Oregon, south of the “Peoples republic of Eugene”. I am in Douglas County, Roseburg, we have a Constitutional Sheriff who just posted to his Facebook page, he will not enforce Kate Browns edicts.
Leftist always take a stand when it involves baby killing, spending massive amounts of other people’s money, gun confiscation or lock downs.
Literally.
The amount of goods purchased by Portland from Texas is less than a rounding error.
Good luck with that.
