BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho public health leaders announced Tuesday that they activated “crisis standards of care” allowing health care rationing for the state's northern hospitals because there are more coronavirus patients than the institutions can handle.
The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare quietly enacted the move Monday and publicly announced it in a statement Tuesday morning — warning residents that they may not get the care they would normally expect if they need to be hospitalized.

The percentage of Oregon’s population fully vaccinated is 58.47%. Are you sure your county has a 83% vaccination rate? If you live in Hood River County, it is 70.6% fully vaccinated. Multnomah County is 67.5% fully vaccinated. Benton County is 65.3% fully vaccinated. Washington County is 63.9% fully vaccinated.

When crisis triage is in effect, those most likely to survive with intervention get the blue x, and those not likely to survive get the yellow x, with a slight bias for the kids. The blue x gets the ICU bed and all the cool machines, the yellow x gets the bed in the parking garage tent with less equipment and lower skilled nursing but made as comfortable as possible. Prognosis and preexisting Advance Directive would take precedence, not vaccination status.
That’s a good vaccination number for the over 65 year-olds. Now they have to understand the health of their immune system. A number of factors can cause a suppressed immune system. If a person has one of those factors, the primed immunity from the vaccination may not work well enough to hold off serious illness. They need to know how they can protect themself from exposure to the virus.
