We need new Nuremberg trials for the Boards of Directors and Senior Executives of the Big Pharma companies.

But the fact that first responders were paid premium pay (”hazard pay”), and were given preference for vaccines over seniors, and were able to lollygag around pleased as punch on their off hours while the rest of us were restricted to homes, under curfew, under no out of city rules or out of county rules or out of state rules.

So I suggest ANY first responder/HCW/’essential worker’ who doesn’t get vaccinated or agree to test weekly at their own expense, have their hazard pay clawed back.

If these folks feel there was never a perceived danger from covid, then they never needed hazard pay, either.

First of all, the assertion that first responders were given a vaccine preference over seniors is not correct.

Second, by foregoing vaccination, more vaccines were available for seniors.

Third, whether vaccinated or not, the risk of contracting COVID was always there, hence the hazard pay. Willingness to accept that risk of getting sick is a personal choice. One’s perception of “danger from COVID” is irrelevant and doesn’t diminish the actual risk that comes from dealing with sick people.

Finally, I don’t understand your statement about them “being able to lollygag around” off duty. Wouldn’t they be subject to the same restrictions as everyone else when not at work?

You in Australia, mate? I was never restricted to my house, I never had to deal with a curfew, I had no travel restrictions and there was no mask mandate. And everything opened back up in May 2020. The past year and a half was fairly normal for me.
