Governor Walz Surrenders to Environmental Jihadists
Townhall.com ^ | September 7, 2021 | Gil Gutknecht

Spirits must have been high as the Governor of Minnesota took the long drive from St. Paul to Alexandria. The weather was perfect, clear cool skies. A glorious day for a picnic on the banks of a picturesque Minnesota lake. It’s fair to assume that the staff expected a warm welcome at the Democrat gathering.

What they got was a taste of just how radicalized their party has actually become.

The Governor was beaming as he took the podium, prepared to rally the loyal troops. Minutes later he was driven from the stage. Mr. Walz was confronted by a squadron of Leftists, convinced that what they had to say was far more important than anything he had to contribute.

So they shouted him down.

Most of the state’s media missed the episode. Fortunately, Alpha News shared the story along with a video which you can see here.

Regardless of your view of this Governor or his policies, it was a shameful display of disrespect, not just of him but of the Office of Governor. The encounter illustrated several things that warrant consideration.

First, the Democrat Party much like Afghanistan, has become a collection of angry tribes. The Left seems to take a clue from the Taliban, there is no room for tolerance or even debate. Anyone who disagrees must be destroyed. The Governor’s sin was that he finally bowed to the facts and agreed to allow the rebuild of an aging pipeline. Now he is a “Climate Denier” in their eyes. He must be run out of town. And that’s just what they did.

The Governor received no slack from these environmental jihadists for recently announcing (foolishly) that Minnesota would follow California’s lead and require half of all vehicles sold in the state be electric within nine years. These “protesters” are perpetually angry. That’s why we should call them the angry Left. They will never be happy, no matter how many times we capitulate.

This is especially so when it comes to “saving the planet.” If you’ve never been taught the golden rule, the Ten Commandments let alone the concept of Minnesota Nice in school, it affects your behavior. You apparently believe you can be as rude and crude as you like. There are no legal or eternal consequences. If your mother is the Earth and that’s all there is, you must do everything to save her. That includes spreading disinformation and half truths about anyone who questions your science. In their world, ends justify the means.

And nothing is ever enough. Even if we all moved back into caves, they would demand meatless Monday’s and fireless Friday’s.

Shouting down a Governor, who has supported their looney agenda 95% of the time, wasn’t just a good idea and morally acceptable. In their eyes it was absolutely essential. With the militant Left it’s my way or the highway. Sadly, the Governor chose the highway.

Throughout history bullies have understood the power of intimidation. Watching the video of the encounter one is struck by the reaction of the others in attendance. Presumably they were there because they wanted to hear and see their Governor. Yet none of the more than 200 people did much of anything to make the jihadists sit down and behave.

Once the Governor and his security detail decided to surrender, they did so in haste. It looked a little like Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. The retreat came quickly with little forethought or planning. Loyalists you’re on your own, we’re outa here! They piled him into that big SUV (carbon be damned) and back to St. Paul they raced.

The worst thing about the whole ugly incident is that the radical environmentalists achieved their objective. The Governor’s unwillingness to stand his ground and make them behave like human beings will only wet their appetite. Expect more confrontations down the road.

There can be no Minnesota Nice when you’re dealing with bullies who behave like jihadists. Surrender buys peace at a heavy price. Putting on your big boy pants and staring them down is the only answer.

Murdoch media in Australia goes fully woke.

actually, half of Murdoch’s media has been “woke” for years, but now the other half are being compromised, and there are reporters - especially on Sky Australia - who don’t like it:

6 Sept: Sydney Morning Herald: Rupert Murdoch’s newspapers, 24-hour news channel to champion net zero emissions
By Zoe Samios and Rob Harris
News Corp Australia, an influential player in Australia’s decade-long climate wars, will end its long-standing editorial hostility towards carbon reduction policies and advocate for the world’s leading economies to hit net zero emissions by 2050.

The owner of some of the nation’s most-read newspapers, including the Herald Sun, The Daily Telegraph, The Australian and 24-hour news channel Sky News Australia will from mid-October begin a company-wide campaign promoting the benefits of a carbon-neutral economy as world leaders prepare for a critical climate summit in Glasgow later this year.

Rupert Murdoch’s global media empire has faced growing international condemnation and pressure from advertisers over its editorial stance on climate change, which has long cast doubt over the science behind global warming and has since 2007 attacked various federal government efforts to reduce emissions...

A plan has been devised to limit – but not muzzle – dissenting voices among News Corp’s stable of conservative commentators, who will be expected to reframe their political arguments both in print and on its subscription news channel, which is now broadcast across regional Australia on free-to-air on WIN.
A spokesman for News Corp Australia declined to comment on Sunday...

The switch in editorial position will likely attract global attention, particularly in America, where Murdoch’s media outlets, such as Fox News, have also been accused by Republican politicians of undermining global efforts on climate change...

Both the British government and United States President Joe Biden’s administration have made direct pleas to Prime Minister Scott Morrison in recent weeks to commit to a net zero target by 2050 and consider increasing its 2030 target of reducing emissions by 26-28 per cent on 2005 levels...

It is no longer about reason; it is their religion. The smarter in their brood must be silently cringing at the virtue signaling and the hypocrisy. They are devouring their leftist governor, in religious fervor.

There is no balance of consumption of the earth’s resources and the absorption of carbon dioxide that will satisfy the equation of “carbon neutral”. Natural life processes and geological events, like volcanic eruptions, even in the absence of ANY human activity, generate about 99% of the atmospheric carbon dioxide at any given moment in time.

And yet, the air around us is not filled to excess of carbon dioxide. Where is it going?

A good deal of the carbon dioxide is in solution in the waters of the earth, forming a weak mineral acid, carbonic acid, which then attacks other mineral deposits, forming various metallic carbonates and bicarbonates, not the least of which is limestone, CaCO3, which makes up a lot of the bedrock in many parts of the earth’s surface.

A huge bulk of the carbon dioxide, however, is absorbed by green growing plant life, both aquatic and terrestrial. By the magic of sunlight and chlorophyll, carbon dioxide and water are converted into various carbohydrate compounds and free molecular oxygen.

Now oxygen is probably one of the most corrosive elements in the universe, exceeded only by fluorine, and neither normally exists at all in the free state. The power to tear it apart from many of the compounds into which it is bound is awesome in its concept, and yet this is done almost effortlessly by these same growing green plants, luxuriating in the sunlight that pours down upon us freely during daytime.

The whole life cycle of the planet is based ENTIRELY on the capture of energy to strip the carbon dioxide molecule free of their oxygen atoms, and to reformulate into different combinations of hydrogen, oxygen, and carbon, with some nitrogen thrown in there to form amino acids, the building blocks of protein, the means by which locomotion is provided to the organisms which develop. There are a number of other lesser elements also involved, but that is a whole field of study in itself, but all still based on the conversion of carbon dioxide into organic carbon-bearing molecules and creating the availability of oxygen.

Carbon dioxide comprises. O2% of the earth’s atmosphere. The media makes you think it’s choking us out at 50%. By the way chlorophyll is a miracle, not magic.

The Minnesota State Fair was held this past week. You could see on the cameras that the vast majority like 95% + were not wearing masks. WCCO tv refused to setup at the fair due to safety concerns. The local paper were all about concerns over the chinese virus to play up the plandemic.

Gad. The amount of CO2 that enters the atmosphere each year is something like 700 Gigatons from volcanos, plants decaying, outgassing from the oceans, etc. Humans contribute something like 30 Gigatons.

When you ask the alarmists, they say that even with the variability of a lot of volcano activity or a little, warming of oceans by increased sunspot activity or cooling by a little, or anything else, it is steady from year to year. It is us adding the CO2, that 30 Gigatons that is throwing everything out of whack.

I swear. They just make this crap up as they go along. There is no rational discussion possible with them.

It is going to be war with them. That is the only way. Because they are already at war with us.

The NOAA is prominently cited as a source of climate change information such as here.

But to be a credible predictor of the future, you need to have a track record of successful predictions today.  That's what machine learning and climate models are all about.

Somebody posting on Wikipedia has done a good job of keeping an annual record of the predictions of the U.S. climatology organizations over a couple decades on predicting the number of tropical storms, hurricanes, and major hurricanes in the Atlantic.

And what the data shows is that often times their track record of prediction is not very good at all.

The 2013 American hurricane season is the year when every one of these organizations failed miserably.

See the prediction chart in the Wiki story.  It shows that the actual number of hurricanes was 2 when the "experts" were predicting 7-9 hurricanes.  In major hurricances, none occurred, and every one of these predictor recorded 3 or more.

So here you have massive prediction failure only a few months ahead.  What does that say about their ability to predict 50 years into the future?

These people are jackasses.

I remember going to a lecture at the Boston Museum of Science back in the late Nineties or early 2000s, and they had guys there from the National Weather Service who said that within five years, they would be able to predict city-block size weather patterns two weeks in advance.

I think I involuntarily snorted aloud when I heard that and remember some people turning to look at me.

And here we are. They cannot accurately predict weather for tomorrow yet.

Single party state advocates are stooges who view those with whom they disagree as the only threat, hence, they hand over the keys to whatever demagogue spoon feeds them the Hate.
