Is COVID a Pandemic of the Unvaccinated? Not Quite.
American Thinker.com ^ | September 7, 2021 | Brian C. Joondeph M.D

Physicians spreading medical misinformation, particularly about COVID, “are risking disciplinary action by state medical boards” due to their “high degree of public trust” and their “powerful platform in society.” One could say this applies more so to the president of the United States, the CDC director, and to major newspapers and media organizations, all of whom have a far larger platform than any single doctor.

For example, will Rolling Stone face disciplinary action over their recent false story about Oklahoma hospitals and ivermectin?

Those supposedly in the know about “the science” may attribute misinformation to evolving science, meaning we are learning about COVID as we go along. Yet this is not the world’s first rodeo with a respiratory virus. The science behind public health measures including masks, distancing, and lockdowns have been known for decades. It seems that the only changes these days are political considerations, and that is not science.

A popular catchphrase this past summer is that COVID is, “a pandemic among the unvaccinated.” President Biden told this to America on August 18. Joe was late to the party as CDC Director Rochelle Walensky warned of this a month earlier. Big media parroted this catchy slogan with little question. Is it true? Is it based on science or simply a push to scare and shame the unvaccinated into taking the vaccine?

Vaccines have shown they can reduce the more severe symptoms from the virus.

Vaccines are plentiful and available for anyone who wants them.

There is nothing more that is in the works. There is nothing to “wait” for .

If you are not vaccinated, you made a choice that is your right.

You do not accept the risks from a rushed vaccine and you do accept the risks posed by the virus. That is your right and I support it 100%.

So, there is no reason for restrictions, masking, etc anymore.’

I read this article and really don’t know what he’s saying.

I keep seeing this about Israel

Ok, are the surge of people having COVID FULLY vaccinated?

How many deaths among these people?

If it’s the right vaccines they can, but not if it’s the wrong vaccines, and these are obviously the wrong vaccines. The rush was way to big for the vaccines.

“Scientists were once an independent lot”; not really. In school we hear about the accomplishments of science not the history of science. It has always been group think and the individual achievers have been the outsides making the accomplishments while being rejected for being different “argumentive”. I have for a long time wanted to write a book about scientists that lived life of rejection because they claimed current theory was wrong and usually after they died was shown to be correct.

Me too. What % of the hospitalizations are fully vaccinated? What percentage of the seriously sick/on ventilators are fully vaccinated?

We were told from the beginning, the vaccine would prevent contracting or spreading, only seriousness of the effects. That would be food information.

And this desirable state of affairs you described in your post is where we should have been in early-mid April 2020.

So, there is no reason for restrictions, masking, etc anymore.

Oh, but there most certainly is: power, subjugation, and control.

The death rate in Israel when comparing vaccinated to unvaccinated is significant.

Vaccinated need hospitalization and have death far less than those not vaccinated.

It takes over a decade to create the "right" vaccine. These mRNA vaccines are not perfect, but they do help more people avoid the hospital and avoid death than those who are unvaccinated.

I do not endorse forced vaccination. Those are the facts. You can decide for yourself which risk you wish to take. Then live with it and shut up.

Most of us want to get on with our lives and end this charade of "protection".

Re: "Vaccinated need hospitalization and have death far less than those not vaccinated."

In the USA, please note that the fatality rate has dropped dramatically since Dec-Jan 2021, when more than 20,000 people died for eight straight weeks.

In the past 12 weeks, the two worst weeks were 7,200 and 6,700, about one third the peak rate.

Six of those 12 weeks were below 2,000 - which is close to the average seasonal influenza death rate.

Also, at some point, the CDC must explain why it counts COVID deaths with a different method than it counts flu deaths.

COVID + Pneumonia or ARDS = 100% COVID deaths

Influenza + Pneumonia or ARDS = 80% Pneumonia or ARDS deaths

And yet...the "excess death rate" in the US this year is tracking the same as last year if not slightly worse. Fascinating, isn't it? What could be causing that? Hmmm?

Re: "What could be causing that? Hmmm?"

Your question is not serious.

In 2020, the COVID death rate did not even exceed 1,000 per week until Week 13.

Comparing that to the first 13 weeks of 2021 is meaningless.

Also, until three weeks ago, the excess death rate for 2021 was dropping 4,000-5,000 per week for 10 straight weeks.

Total deaths in 2020 now exceed total deaths in 2021.

2020 - 34 Weeks - Total Deaths - All Causes - 2.132 million

2021 - 34 Weeks - Total Deaths - All Causes - 2.042 million

In order to get a true picture wouldn’t it be important to compare like periods for the previous couple of years—just to get a cyclical view of it.

But, I stopped debating statistics with people who get all of their statistical information from guys on You Tube who do not shower regularly.

The excess death rate in 2020 was huge.

For the six years preceding 2020, deaths increased an average of 35,000 per year.

In 2020, total deaths were almost 600,000 higher than in 2019.

In spite of that, COVID did not start killing lots of people until the first week in April, 2020.

Thus, comparing that period to 2021, when the pandemic had already been raging for nine months, makes no sense.
