Former FDA chief Scott Gottlieb is warning that the “true Delta wave” has yet to begin in the Northeast — and predicted it would start soon after Labor Day.
“I think there’s sort of a perception that we’re sort of through this Delta wave here in the Northeast because we’ve seen Delta cases go up and go down in places like the New York metropolitan region. We’re also seeing positive [tests] come down,” said Dr. Gottlieb, the former head of the federal Food and Drug Administration, on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Friday.

Colorado was showing 6 active variants the last time I looked. So they could ride existing variants for a long time yet.

How does he KNOW this is the Delta variant? From what I’ve read, it takes a lot of very expensive medical equipment and advanced knowledge to distinguish between Delta and the original CCP virus.
Wonder how many medical labs so equipped in the US?

We do have delta up here - it’s just that so many people are vaccinated, it can’t really take off. There are some breakthrough cases, but not a lot.
If they were really serious about covid there would be 24 hour free testing sites. Around here one needs a referral to a testing site and they want your insurance card.
It either isn’t real or they really don’t want to stop it they don’t care.

I am unvaccinated and get calls from Red Cross 3 or more times a week. Sometimes twice in one day. I am seeing articles that they do not give plasma from vaccinated donors to those who are vaccinated. O+ and power red evidently are in high demand right now.
