Harris had to step in to break the tie and get him approved.
Believe it or not, Kahl got NO Republican votes. All nays.
You owe me a buck!
the DEMOCRATS are EVIL
****************
And the Republicans are weak, feckless and unprincipled. The Democrats have no respect or fear of them so they push their radical agenda without hesitation. They can always count on the GOP to retreat or cave.
All the Republicans ever do is whimper and whine.
Amen.
all lefturd loons are wrong about everything and ruin everything
As far as strategizing is concerned, it’s ridiculous to blame that on a single person.

Agree. Those with the ultimate power of decisions should be held accountable.
What’s the point of having a captain on a ship if he’s never going to be responsible for anything?
+1 Exactly right.
So the DC gangsters have agreed on a scapegoat?

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if the Rats fingered this guy and told their Repuke pals to go after him to try and distract from the failures of Biden and company. The GOP are a bunch of useless idiots and would fall right into this trap.
the protocol is that “the buck stops here” ... at the White House Oval Office desk. Biden always blames someone else.
Guess they’re looking for a scapegoat. This guy didn’t make the call on the Afghanistan withdrawal.
Biden always blames someone else.
*************
Hey...its the DC Way!
There goes the GOP, giving disaster Joe a free pass and letting him off the hook by blaming others

You summed up the whole article in one sentence. Nicely done!
It sure looks that way to an objective observer.
To someone planning for the future, outside of the U.S. government, the biggest question will be: How much damage can the Biden administration inflict, how long will he be in office, and what form will the USA take when he is gone.
Every GOP voter who stayed home and/or didn’t vote in the Senate elections is to blame for this.
In the Obama administration, Kahl was directly involved in negotiating the Iran Nuclear Deal, as well as publicly advocating for it.

“Betcha a buck Graham voted for him.”
Donate the buck to Free Republic. No Republican voted to confirm Colin Kahl. He was confirmed on a 49 to 45 roll call vote. The usual suspects Graham, Murkowski, Collins and Romney all voted no. The following Republicans did not cast vote on the nomination:
Blunt (R-MO)
Cramer (R-ND)
Paul (R-KY)
Rounds (R-SD)
Shelby (R-AL)
Here is a link to the vote:
On April 22, 2021, the Senate voted to invoke cloture (limit debate) on the nomination by a vote of 51–50, with all Republicans in the Senate agains the motion, requiring Vice President Kamala Harris having to break the tie on the motion for only the fourth time.
On April 27, 2021, Kahl was confirmed by a vote of 49–45, with many GOP Senators absent. He was sworn in the following day by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

This guy is a patsy for the WH and the Pentagon generals.
Lower level scapegoat for the Uniparty.
Republicans aren’t stupid. They’re looking for an unknown fall guy so they don’t have to blame their Chinese overlords.
