House Republicans wrote a letter to Marissa Mayer - who they described as "President and Chief Executive Officer" of Yahoo - warning her of legal action should the company hand over private data to a committee investigating the January 6 riot...However, Mayer hasn't been CEO of Yahoo since 2017, when she resigned after spending five years attempting to pull the media giant back from a steady demise...

For those who don’t remember this...back in 2008, Microsoft offered up 44-billion dollars for Yahoo. Yahoo fought off the purchase offer...to be the marginally existing unit that they are today. I doubt, in todays world....that Yahoo is worth more than two or three billion.

Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer actually raised the 2008 bid to $47 billion, which was still rejected.

In January 2000, Yahoo was the most valuable company in the world - I cannot find the exact dollar amount.

In May 2021, Verizon sold 90% of Yahoo to Apollo Funds for $5 billion.

Yahoo's websites are still ranked #12 in world wide daily visits, so there is still potential value there, but no one has been able to locate it since the company peaked in January 2000.

Also dashed off a harshly-worded letter to Jefferson Davis, to cut it off with that "rebellion" thingy!

Idiots!

It's the kind of efficient work we've come to expect from our pubbie congress critters.

All sound and fury that signifies nothing.

Wouldn't some one, anyone, run a search to make sure that the letter {which is all bullshit} is being sent to the person that really is the CEO.

Another strong letter to follow.

I ran a search for “Yahoo Leadership team” on duckduckgo.com and there are almost NO recent returns from the search.

Most results are 10 years old.

Wonder who rated them on the web?

Mayer is the typical female CEO. Didn’t deserve the position, then “Fiorina’s” the company.
