Members of Congress and their staffers who scrambled to help Americans and their Afghan allies get out of Afghanistan before this week’s withdrawal deadline have revealed some of the frantic messages they received from people desperate to leave in recent days.

One Afghan-American who worked with the office of Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) said the Islamic fundamentalist group’s fighters “were creating as much problem as they could.”
The man recalled being told by the State Department to go to the Interior Ministry in Kabul, where he was confronted by a Taliban guard. After the man explained the situation, the Taliban fighter responded: “Go and tell the State Department to #### themselves.”

The Examiner reports that lawmakers, staffers and would-be evacuees found that the Taliban did not want to let Afghan-Americans through the checkpoints, even when people brandished their dark-blue US passports.
One Afghan-American woman sent the office of Rep. Mike Garcia (R-Calif.) a video of her sitting in a car at a checkpoint, holding her children’s passports and asking what she can do.
“This is why you don’t rely on the Taliban to be the ones monitoring the checkpoints,” Garcia told the Examiner.

The Biden administration has repeatedly portrayed the Taliban as an equal partner in the evacuation operation. State Department officials stated that the Taliban had guaranteed safe passage to anyone who wished to leave Afghanistan, despite widespread reporting that people who attempted to cross the checkpoints were being assaulted and beaten.

So yeah, I do not believe one thing that anyone from Congress says and I do not care one single solitary bit about any Afghani being “stuck” there.
Up until the Taliban swept into Kabul, the foreigners that made their way to Afghanistan and Kabul turned into fantasy land. The Green Zone in Iraq, with more restaurants and shops and clubs. All under a blanket of protection provided by a bunch of kids from the 82nd Airborne, 10th Mtn, or 1st Marine Div. All while USAID workers, journalists, reporters, do-gooders, dog rescuers, partied their a$$es off.
Sorry playboy. The world knew the Taliban was taking Afghanistan as fast as they wanted. Should have got out sooner.
I don’t believe for one second they had plenty of time while Joe Biden was lying over and over. We have propagandists in the White House and the State Department and Defense. They had plenty of time and didn’t act fast enough is the propogandist line. Austin, Milley and Biden took mostly the wrong people - thousands of Afghans with no ties to the United States whatsoever. No other commander in chief would do that and take all the wrong people and leave the Americans behind. Last 5 planes out of Afghanistan they didn’t even have one American on board.

Interesting point brought up. Not one human interest story about the tears eyes moment these family members were reunited with family in the US. No names. No interviews. Nothing.
