To think I cried when he lost in 1992 when I was a teenager. How dumb on my part.
The Bush family wasn’t great, but one of the biggest problems of the entire Bush family was that they were too trusting of their opponents. Remember GWB “reaching across the aisle” and getting his hand bitten off...and then doing it again.
In the case of Clinton, oddly enough, I’d say he really just cared about Bill, was corrupt and leftwing but didn’t entirely hate the United States, and was willing to go along to get along. (His wife was a different matter.)
But that was a long time ago, and now we have a left wing that has taken over the entire government, academy, and media...and Republicans who are blissfully unaware and still want to believe it’s the same old same old.
It ain’t.
To think that Barbara nearly committed suicide because of HW’s affair with a totally unremarkable woman, and she had to deal with that woman personally everyday for years…. Totally disgusting. No wonder he got along so well with Clinton.
