The United States Congress is embroiled in a crisis of its own making. Thirteen U.S. servicemen killed and thousands of Americans stuck in a country now ruled by the Taliban – the very same Taliban that was thwarted at every turn since 2001 by the U.S. military and contractors. And that’s why the breaking story of the murderer – finally unmasked – of Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt nearly went unnoticed. But flyover folks grabbed on to the culprit’s name and have been damning him for countless hours, along with the boondoggle the current Commander-in-Chief has gotten us into this week.

His name is Michael Byrd: the man who fired the only shot during the January 6 mayhem of a protest gone too far. The very same Capitol Police officer, Chris Robinson of Jefferson City, MO, reminds us, “left his loaded service weapon in the men’s room” of the heavily traveled and very public Capitol Visitor Complex. How he retained his job and service weapon is quite the debate.

People complaining to each other on anonymous blogs and internet forums isn’t exactly the same as Michael Byrd “taking heat”. I’m sure he is blissfully unaware of anything being said about him here, or on most right wing websites or media outlets.
I’m surprised they haven’t created a bronze statue of him, and placed it right next to the one of Floyd.
I predict this guy will be the victim of a mugging gone wrong soon. 😐
Even leftists know that had everything been reversed (i.e. a white male cop had shot a 5’2’’ unarmed black woman who was not physically threatening him or anyone else and already had armed cops standing right behind her), several cities would have been burned to the ground over the murder and the media would have considered it a lead story for months.
I hope the bastard suffers the rest of his life….then satan can have his turn for eternity…..
From looking at the video multiple times very carefully, it really looks to me like Byrd, who is apparently not of a very high IQ and exhibits unacceptable trigger discipline in other contemporary photos, had an accidental discharge of his Glock. Glock triggers are notorious for accidental discharges in high stress situations when trigger discipline is ignored.
I pray that truth becomes his constant companion.
