California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder explained on "Sunday Morning Futures" why he believes embattled Gov. Gavin Newsom "will be out of here" by September 14.
Elder slammed the governor on Sunday for the surge in crime and homelessness in the state as well as the coronavirus shutdowns, which he argued led to a third of all California small businesses shutting down for good.
Elder made the comments as ballots are being sent to voters for California’s gubernatorial recall election of Newsom. In some counties, ballot drop boxes are already open and some election offices are available for early voting, ahead of the Sept. 14 contest.
The 22 million registered voters in the nation’s most populous state have started to receive their ballots amid a surge in campaign activity, as the Republican replacement candidates stepped up their attacks on the Democratic governor and Newsom kicked into higher gear his efforts to encourage Democrats and other supporters to cast ballots.
Most of the latest surveys indicate that Elder, a conservative talk radio host, who jumped into the race about a month ago, is the front-runner among the gubernatorial replacement candidates.
Newsom and his allies acknowledge that they need a strong turnout to counter Republican voters motivated to cast ballots in hopes of ousting the governor.
Earlier this month, Newsom warned Latino supporters about the "consequential nature of this recall" at a get-out-the-vote event in a neighborhood on the east side of Los Angeles.
Elder told host Maria Bartiromo that right now those in favor and those opposed to a recall is "50/50."

Yup. Whereas the Newsome like factor is very weak.
They will also have to over come democrat election fraud.
The democrooks are trying their best to steal this election.
Of course they are. We all knew they would.
I realize that there are some people that get their money from newsom {teachers and public sector unions, illegals and high tech big shots} but if there is such an animal as a "normal California resident" why are they still living there?
Who is this "California" that you refer to?
I will be shocked if the democrats don’t end up stealing this election. There will probably be more ballots cast than there are people in California.
They better stop the steal . If biteme could win over Trump then anything is possible
None of that is likely to happen.
When has there ever been more votes than the population of any state?
We’ll soon see.
And they’ll keep counting… and counting… and counting… until they get the results they want.
“California hates Newsom”
If so, they have a rather interesting way of showing that “hate,” considering Newsom’s approval percentages are in the mid-50s.
I love Elder, a brilliant and courageous man.
He knows that the 2020 election was stolen, but for political reasons he understandably said the opposite.
And now he will win and not win, as the election WILL be stolen from him. There is zero chance they will allow Elder to become governor.
Will he then acknowledge that it was stolen from him?
Fixed it.
“Our public schools need big change. I’m Gloria Romero; I was the majority leader of Democrats in the state senate. I believe in charter schools and school choice. So does Larry Elder — but not Gavin Newsom. He shut our public schools while he sent his kids to private schools,” Romero says in a video released by the Elder campaign.
I sure hope that Mr. Elder is right.
It would be great for California were the “Sage of South Central” to be elected.
Newsom will find a way to win
What’s needed is that California needs to get a backbone and tell these Liberals to go F themselves!! Elder would be a start, but the state houses need to be changed too...
The Voter Fraud isn’t weak, tho.
A Democrat endorsed Elder? Great some people might wake up.
