Katrina didn’t hit NO...it hit the Mississippi Gulf Coast. NO was destroyed by the failure of its pumps and levees because of political malfeasance with monies that were supposed to go to the upkeep of them. Maybe this time NO can claim they took a direct hit and place the blame correctly.

Spoke with my cousin at about 1800 hours. They left NO driving west to Houston on River Road, said highway to Baton Rouge was stacked and moving at 8 mph. Ought to make Houston by midnight

When are they going to realize that the whole city should be moved? How many times are other people going to have to pony up big bucks to rebuild the place and take care of the people who don’t have enough sense to live somewhere else?
