Harvard University, the elite institution founded by Puritans to train ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, has selected a devout atheist to serve as its chief chaplain.

Greg Epstein was named president of the chaplains for the religious community at the school after serving as Harvard's "humanist chaplain" since 2005, the New York Times reported.

The university, with the motto "Truth for Christ and the Church," was founded by in 1636 and named for pastor John Harvard.

Epstein, 44, was ordained as a Humanist Rabbi by the International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism. He's the author of a 2010 book titled "Good Without God: What A Billion Nonreligious People Do Believe."

From farther in the article:

"The Times said Epstein was the unanimous choice of a nominating committee that includes members of the Lutheran, Christian Scientist, evangelical Christians and Bahai faiths."

Maybe Harvard students seeking religious guidance and community should just go to church, synagogue, etc.

There are some interesting articles on the history of Harvard. How it started, like most colleges in the early US, as primarily a seminary for the preparations of pastors. How, with the Industrial Revolution, those colleges began to transition into universities to teach useful trades and good business practices.

In the beginning they taught the classics so that the students could read the Bible and classical documents such as the Odyssey in the original languages and learn the moral lessons therein.

However, this was modified to focus on being ethical for practical and business reasons. So there was still some emphasis on being of good character, but more in the interest of helping America expand its industry than God expand his flock.

We are now seeing the logical conclusion: being ethical in business these days means kowtowing to the BLM, believing in the new DEI (God): Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

So the more things change, the more things stay the same. Harvard still has the same goal, it's just that the goalposts have moved. Now the goalposts are hanging out about 12ft away from the edge of a cliff.

Graduate schools of theology are designed to be open and absorbent to diverse doctrine and thought. In time every one migrates from its first core statements.

The Communists that infiltrated and took over the University are just solidifying their power by making sure nothing of the old order is left.

No surprise here, move on, nothing else to see here....
Harvard, the scum of the earth, not pink, but bright RED, Communist for a long time. Only a few leave the halls of Ivy with less brainwashing that the students receive at Harvard.
Our country would be better off if Harvard was pushed into the sea, never to be seen or heard again!
I know one Harvard graduate who is a devout Communist. She is a lawyer in the SF Bay area and she is not worth knowing. She was a 2002 graduate, I think.
I think that she struggles because she is so far left that others avoid her company.

Our Country has lost its soul and its institutions no longer trust in God. The great reset will be when Christ calls all His true and faithful believers home in the coming rapture of his Church and it will be all those who refuse to accept Christ left on earth because they made the wrong choice as Harvard has now done.
