Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Wednesday issued a new executive order prohibiting vaccine mandates across the state after the Food and Drug Administration gave its full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 inoculation earlier this week.
The new measure expands on an earlier order from the governor, which prohibited any vaccine mandates if a product is being used under an emergency use authorization, as all three of the COVID-19 vaccines in use in the U.S. were until this week. The FDA’s decision was a key moment in the nation’s effort to beat back the pandemic, with public health officials championing the news as encouragement for about 90 million eligible Americans that have yet to be inoculated.
Abbott’s updated ban comes despite surging rates of new coronavirus infections both in Texas and across the nation linked to the highly transmissible delta variant. He also called on the legislature to vote it into law during its ongoing special session.
“Vaccine requirements and exemptions have historically been determined by the legislature, and their involvement is particularly important to avoid a patchwork of vaccine mandates across Texas,” the governor added in a statement.

The media has been REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEing about it, because it renders their mandate agenda completely powerless.
THIS is the stuff that we need to be pushing rather than tilting at windmills and pretending that the FDA didn’t actually authorize the vaccine.
The language of HB702 would be portable around the country, and it would instantly render the vaccine Karens powerless in any State that implemented it.
I don’t understand how many around here don’t see the mandates as larger than just one vaccine.

Vaxx mandates are raw evil—whether done by governments, businesses, churches or any other entity.
They are telling you that you have no right to decide what goes in your own body, that you are a slave to whoever issues the mandate.

I don’t get my information from social media or news site aggregators. I read news articles published by people who do very detailed analysis of what is actually in the paperwork. You are free to believe whatever the government dictators tell you.

Well they did not. They reissued the existing Emergency authorization and approved the new version (without the hold harmless clause on side effects) which won’t be available for 2 years.

I don’t like what the FDA did. I have been very clear that I think the approval was rushed, political, and had no regard for the actual safety of the drug. However, pretending that it wasn’t approved is absolutely asinine and it makes conservatives look like fools.
The FDA approval process is complicated and full of government red-tape.
In short, this is what actually happened.
The BLA (Biologics License Application) that was submitted by Pfizer-BioNTech was APPROVED. It is NOT conditional. It was approved. Period.
That’s how the process works.

Once approval is issued, the regulations require packaging and marketing. That’s why there is now a proprietary name being used.
COMIRNATY is nothing more than the proprietary name. It is the same drug. Formulated exactly the same, and it is interchangeable with the Pfizer label.
It has been distributed under that name in Europe since January and in Australia since July.
The existing Pfizer label had the EUA reissued for 12-15 year olds and for third doses.
The approval is for usage. It has nothing to do with a “new” drug.

I don’t like it. You might not like it. But it is what it is. Pretending otherwise is asinine, stupid and not productive.
Perhaps you can answer a question about liability. Under the EUA the maker was immune from being sued but as an FDA approved vaccine, if I understand it correctly, that protection goes away.
Now I have no doubt big pharma is going to find a way to make them not liable but do you think they will use this vaccine in the US with no protection from liability?
With up to 200,000 deaths or serious side effects that may last forever I could see multi million dollar lawsuits coming from a lot of different directions.
I’ve read the FDA statement about the “approval”.
Yes, the COMIRNATY is for all practical purposes the same drug. But without the exclusion about liability for side effects.
BUT the liability issue is why this is a mine field legally.
You cannot buy the drug anywhere, no matter what name they call it that does not have an exemption for liability on it.
That, is what this is about. And it is about the agenda, of the people banging this Covid drum. This is not about public health it is about money and control. The ComDems and their foreign allies want to make every man, woman and child in the world their slave. It would be the death of freedom anywhere.
The “full approval” was totally political. It does not make the treatment effective or safe. It is neither. Look at Israel where it is almost universal.

It helps me understand where you are coming from.
Unless you happen to be in a nursing home. Maybe some didn't notice that Abbott casually endorsed the vaccine by declaring the Vaccine that didn't protect him did in fact make the symptoms less severe.
He can't know for sure that the Vaccine did not infect him such that he wouldn't have gotten Covid at all if he had avoided it altogether.
