(CNN)As polls have tightened dramatically in recent weeks in the effort to recall Gavin Newsom, the Democratic California governor and his allies have been warning of doomsday scenarios if he is ousted on September 14 and replaced by a conservative Republican bent on unraveling the state's progressive agenda.
But as some of the major candidates vying to replace Newsom met for a debate in Sacramento Wednesday night -- where they portrayed him as ill-equipped to handle the state's many crises -- there are some early signs that rank-and-file Democrats aren't wasting time returning their vote-by-mail ballots in their effort to stop the recall.

Interesting. Larry has only gone after Newsom, none of his Republican rivals.
Yesterday he even posted a lengthy article by Michael Shellenberger that was critical of Newsom, but also endorsed Kevin Faulconer at the very end of the article.
Elder believes that Biden is the legitimate president, that the election was fair.
So that’s enough reason to just let Newsom win, and with it become the odds on favorite to become POTUS in 2024?

I believe he has since revised his opinion (after he realized the backlash was going to sink him if he didn’t).
Is that his private opinion or his public opinion? I’m under the impression that he only said this a couple of days ago. I do not know the date of the video - but it can’t be more than a couple of weeks old.
This Paffrath kid is the wildcard. Major YouTube guy, financial advice. He has a couple million followers. He can get out the vote. Unlike the mainstream rats he’s a capitalist and doesn’t hate business. Though his website doesn’t talk about social issues but the economic stuff is acceptable if not ideal. I’m voting for Elder, but could live with the kid. He’d be a massive improvement and could scarcely do worse than Newsom

I’m voting for Kevin Kiley and so are all 4 members of my household who are old enough to vote.
He’s smart—(Harvard, Yale), conservative, and sensible. And one of his top issues is CA education which is my top issue as I have two teens.
He wants to go back to basics in CA: reliable water, reliable power, roads, forest management, less crime and homelessness, good schools. The things that government SHOULD get right.
