Need a religious exemption from COVID-19 vaccine? State releases guidelines for getting it
KOMO News ^ | August 25th 2021 | Keith Eldridge

State officials on Wednesday published new guidance for public school faculty and staffers who plan to seek a religious exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine as the deadline for the required vaccinations nears.

A new form was released that asks several questions for those who are applying for the exemption.

The form's questions to state workers include:

"You assert that you have a sincerely held religious belief or religious conviction that prevents you from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.. Yes or no?" The second question is the most controversial. “You affirm/agree that you have never received a vaccine or medicine from a health care provider as an adult. Yes or no.”

“The purpose of this question is to understand whether there was a history of declining medical treatment or vaccination based on an applicant’s religious belief," Gov. Jay Inslee's office said. "If they answer no, the HR professionals would engage in follow up questions to better understand the person’s history, such as demonstrating changes they have made as an adult based on those beliefs.”

The form admits that "people’s religious views may change over time,” and the governor's office said in a written statement that presumes that people are being honest.

“We assume people are being straightforward in their responses," the statement said.

That prompted a strong reaction from state Sen. Doug Ericksen (R-Linden).

“I think what you’re seeing here is a system that the governor has intentionally put out to make it was difficult as possible for someone to qualify under this exemption that he’s put out there," he said. "So, it’s pretty disingenuous to say you’re going to have a religious exemption and then place so many caveats and so many rules and restrictions on it that it makes it almost impossible for somebody to use honestly.”

The requirements for teachers and school staff are not quite as challenging.

Employees are asked a few questions, including: "Describe the religious belief, practice, or observance that is the basis for your request for a religious accommodation. Does your religious belief, practice, or observance lead you to object to:

a.All medical treatment – Yes/Nob.All vaccinations – Yes/Noc.Only the COVID-19 vaccination – Yes/No

“Obviously employees who have a sincerely held religious belief have to document that and they have to describe it, they essentially have to attest to that as well,” said state Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal.

When asked if state school administrators should worry that some school employees may not be sincere in their answers, Reykdal said, "I’m not. I mean these are hard decisions to get to, but I think at the end of the day it causes everyone to finally walk up to that line and say, ‘I haven’t been required to do this and now I’m being required.' But those who really do say, 'No I’m not going to,’ you’re starting to get folks who genuinely have a deep belief or practice against this and then they get to describe that. and so I’m not worried about that.”

Sara Gillispie, spokeswoman for the Puyallup School District, said a religious exemption will not require a medical consultation or proof of an organized religious affiliation. It is simply an attestation and signature for the employee related to a religious belief, practice or observance.”

Shannon Ergun, president of the Tacoma Education Association teachers’ union said, “I think it just really provides our members an opportunity to share what they believe and how they’ve come to that so that we can effectively create exemptions for those that need them.”

And time is starting to run out for people to meet the Oct. 18 fully vaccinated deadline set by the governor.

For those who opt for the Moderna shot, the first dose must be received by Sept. 6 and by Sept. 13 for the Pfizer shot. People who choose to get the Johnson & Johnson shot have to get it by Oct. 4 to allow for the two-week period for it to take effect.

They should rephrase that question to: Have you ever knowingly received an MRNA injection described as an “vaccine”

Pretty sure everyone can say “no”

Don’t do it. They will be able to really identify you then. If this isn’t the start of 666 then it’s a good similarity.

I think they seriously need to review the whole body of law and experience with military conscientious objection.

Plus, I have all of my normal, traditional vaccines received and up-to-date. I have not and will not get the experimental Covid-19 vaccines, nor do I typically get the annual flu vaccine. I religiously avoid these, prefer to respect my body's built up immunity.

The flu shot is just rolling dice.
The Covid shot is not a vaccine, and no one knows the long term effects.

from Australia. if only the following would lead to so-called “essential” media reporting more honestly about the jabs! doubt it will happen, though:

26 Aug: news.com.au: Channel 7 journalist hospitalised with pericarditis after Pfizer vaccine
Channel 7 reporter Denham Hitchcock has spoken from hospital after being diagnosed with pericarditis, a rare side effect of the Pfizer vaccine.
by Natalie Brown
In a post to Instagram, the Channel 7 journalist wrote that he’d “battled over whether” to share his experience or not, “but decided after 27 years of being a journalist who’s primary goal is to discover the truth – it would be hypocritical not to”.
“I’m NOT anti-vax. But I’m really not pro vax either. I’m pro choice – and pro information to make that choice. Above all I’m PRO opening the bloody country up and to do that I don’t see any way around getting the majority of Australia vaccinated. So I got the Pfizer shot,” Hitchcock said.

“The first week was like any vaccine. Feeling off. But nearing the end of the second week my heart started to race, I was getting pins and needles in the arms, extreme fatigue and a very strange sensation of dizziness. I took Nurofen, and I kept working.

“By the end of the third week I was getting steadily worse – sharp chest pain – cold shivers and chills – and the dizziness was intense. 25 days after the shot and probably a little late to hospital – but here I am – diagnosed with pericarditis – or inflammation of the heart due to the Pfizer vaccine.”...

“My present thought would be – in the current vaccine frenzy, no one is talking about this but it’s clearly happening – and if you want the vaccine and have any heart history it would be worth talking to your GP about your vaccine choice, especially as AZ is readily available and does not have this side effect,” Hitchcock advised...

Hitchcock’s diagnosis comes after Georgia Clark, a reporter with (Murdoch’s) The Daily Telegraph, also revealed that she was being treated for pericarditis – but urged Aussies to continue coming forward to get vaccinated.
“If this is what the vaccine has done to me, who knows what would happen if I actually caught Covid, I could die,” the 27-year-old told The Daily Telegraph...

I believing identifying as a Christian Scientist would exempt on religious grounds anyone from getting the vax.

Neither me or my wife have had a flu vaccination of any kind that I am aware of.

I think most people will see it as generically vaccines. Regarding the long-term effects, I think we are already seeing them in the need for vaccinated to get boosters--first none, then every year or so, then yearly, now every 3-6 months? How of this stuff can a body handle?

And the number of deaths and injuries from the experimental vaccines are buried in plain sight. I really do not understand why more people are not screaming about this, especially as most people are not affected by Covid.

People are too dug in on both sides.
It’s a dichotomy of pride and stubbornness.

For me, it’s only the COVID Vax. It’s the ONLY one I know of that used line cells from aborted fetuses for testing... Abortion is in direct conflict with my faith. I’d also provide proof I’ve declined my flu shot for the past 13 years (since I retired from the military).

It’s too political—vis-a-vis China, Trump, politicized doctors, media and tech censorship for all of the above, and political fear-mongering, power-grabs, etc. I don’t recall any vaccine ever being treated this way. AIDs was the opposite, no action to identify and quarantine people, which allowed it to spread, for politics. Now we have fascist overreaction.

Yep, and no one discusses the truth.

I am neither prideful or stubborn. I do have a strong sense for self-preservation. I have a good immune system, no comorbidities and am generally healthy. God gave me a brain to analyze the information I acquire and make a decision in my self-interest.

It doesn’t apply to everyone. I also take excellent care of myself, and that’s what I’m counting on.
