Some 270 MPs from all parties have been briefed on the crisis in Afghanistan today, according to Sky's chief political correspondent Jon Craig.
Many have since spoken to Sky News and said they had come away with the impression UK evacuation flights will end "very soon".
There's a strong indication the US may start taking out their troops within the next 48 to 72 hours, MPs believe, and the UK will then follow suit.
It means we could see evacuation flights stopping within 48 hours.
Craig says the decision on when the air bridge will end will be agreed at the G7 meeting tomorrow.
One senior diplomatic source told him the UK exit could be soon if Joe Biden's response to a plea from Boris Johnson and other G7 leaders is negative.
The decision from the US might not come until Wednesday, but there is a lot resting on tomorrow's virtual summit.

Biden is giving a press conference today, probably talk about mandating the Pfizer vac.
WUT?
Because after 20 YEARS, waiting another week or two to save peoples lives is just too much.
The press, except for Fox, isn’t covering this.
Ask your Democrat friends and relatives what’s going on in Afghanistan.
No idea.
Nations hostile to US➡️Soros➡️Clintons➡️Democrat Party➡️Press
The press and Democrats think they are being loyal to the Clintons.
They are helping the nations hostile to the US.
The US froze the Afghan Central Bank’s 9.3 billion. The Obozo mussies calling the real shots want an excuse to give those funds to the Taliban (fellow travelers) so are setting up a huge hostage scenario.

CNN has been doing a surprisingly good job covering the Afghan debacle. And that’s especially true of their reporter in Kabul, Larissa Logan. Logan was telling it exactly like it was.
Now here’s the thing. Logan left the country a couple of days ago. Was that for her own safety? Or was she pulled out for being too honest?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Heard it was for safety, but who knows.
What are Americans seeing on the channels they watch?
Sorry, the CNN reporter in my post #8 is Larissa Ward. I don’t know where I got “Logan” from.
Damn it anyway. I messed it up again. That CNN reporter’s name is Clarissa Ward. I think I’d better go take a nap. Or maybe I’ll apply to be Biden’s press secretary.
Won’t get it. You circled back too fast.
Because after 20 YEARS, waiting another week or two to save AMERICAN lives is just too much.
LOL. Happens to everyone. Sometimes you are in such a hurry to correct yourself that you make another mistake.
It’s worth noting that Ward put on that Muslim dress because she was walking around Kabul itself. That took a bit of courage. She wasn’t in some studio in New York, or standing behind the barbed wire at Kabul airport.
I am not, in general, a fan of CNN or its reporters. But I’ve got to give credit where credit is due.

And it ain’t over yet. I posted a correction in my post #12. And I wanted it to go to “All”. But I typed “Al” instead. Now some Freeper named Al is going to get my post #12, and wonder why.
i’ll give her that
i still think it’s pushing trusting the Talib tooo far, she’s just lucky...
Laura Logan, bless her, should have been a cautionary tale
So, they are going to actually abandon Americans behind enemy lines, and abandon tens of thousands of Afghanis? Does this make us, as a nation, guilty of subsequent deaths, rapes, and so forth?
