Rachel Maddow will keep hosting her top-rated show on MSNBC for at least another year, as 'heated' negotiations scored the host a cushy transition into a weekly format.
The multi-year deal will let Maddow - who is said to earn $7 million a year - develop new projects at the cable channel and outside of it with parent company NBCUniversal, according to Business Insider.
It will also see her transition her five-day-a-week show into just one day a week some time next year, sources told CNN.

I know that show prep is involved, but 10 hours a day seems unlikely for her sort of program, especially when the DNC hands out the talking points, and everyone falls in line with almost the same wording in their commentaries.

That network is funded by millionaires and billionaires. They wouldn’t be able to remain on the air with low ratings if they weren’t.

Nope, she is one of the few lefties that has maintained over 3 million per show.
I have never been able to figure out what the attraction is, but I have never been able to watch for more than a single segment.
There are more crazies out there than we like to imagine but there are only a coupla hundred thousand Freepers and way fewer that contribute.

Who is Rachael Maddow and why should I care?
Maddow and her guests will lie through their teeth on a Sunday morning show and the minions will parrot the lie through the week.
Propaganda on cable television is going the same route as newspapers where rags like the New York Times went to "the weekender" subscription to avoid looking like a weekly paper instead of a daily.
Her wife. Her wife got covid last year before the vaccines were available and Rachel decided to change her life priorities.
If the radio network Air America had this kind of funding from a major media company, Al Franken would still have his radio show going, and would not have been a senator from Minnesota.
Conan O’Brien “comedian” used to have a daily show when he went to TBS and after years of bashing conservatives his rating started to go down and down when Trump was in office then he cut back to 30 mins then was gone less then 2 years later. The late night “comedy” shows same thing.
Greg Gutfield of Fox News beats them all now.
Maddow ratings were not so good to begin with so I expect her to leave. MSNBC will not learn and will replace her with other hosts who are worse (if possible).
