Military planes making evacuation runs into Kabul are dropping flares and carrying out nosedive combat landings amid fears that Islamic terrorists may try to shoot one down as Afghans trying to flee the Taliban have described at least 20 civilians being killed in the chaos.

US military planes are doing rapid diving combat landings to beat the threat of a missile attack, with video showing a French transport plane yesterday deploying flares designed to confuse heat-seeking technology which may have been stolen by Islamic State in Afghanistan.

Taliban forces controlling all access points to Hamid Karzai International Airport are not thought to be attempting to shoot down military aircraft during the Western evacuation effort, as such an action could trigger another American-led intervention in Afghanistan.

Given how terrible this disaster is, how fitting would it be if ISIS or the Taliban shot down a US Plane, after Biden tells how great things are today at 4pm....it’s only a matter of time...and they shoot it down with US weapons left behind..

I hope Congress demands to know how much extra was spent on this disaster that could have been avoided if we had just left Bagram open until everyone was safely out.

This surely costs more

US lifelines ended when Trump left the WH.

These people were too lazy and shiftless to build their own country. Despite having the backing of billions of American dollars and military might, they were too effin lazy to do it themselves. It only lasted until America left. They couldn't be bothered to pick up the tools we gave them and finish the job.

These are not the kind of layabouts we want in America. We have plenty of homegrown layabouts as it is.

It looks like SOME of the military aircraft are doing a corkscrew maneuver, but not many. I’ve been watching the Kabul airport off and on for a week:

Kabul is (hopefully) the neocons last stand.

ISIS was their all-time most effective gollum, it’s no surprise that they would summon it from the great beyond to suck up American lives and American treasure in a renewed foreign war for foreign people.

Not buying.

Never again.

Let's add low intelligence to that equation, which is what happens to a society after centuries of inbreeding.

Now we wait for the inevitable conflict when the Taliban realize the people who run the electric company and the water company, but had very little to do with the US or our forces otherwise and don’t speak a word of English, are in line at KAB for a free ticket to the US. I give it less than a week. Pass the popcorn.

Are the commercial planes in the Civil Reserve Air Fleet now being activated equipped to evade heat-seeking missiles. Are they capable of making ‘diving combat landings’? Just wondering.

My cousin was ab Air Force pilot during Iraq & he was telling us about the take-off/landings & how they had to do it to try & avoid missile attacks. Very interesting stuff hearing it from someone first hand.

Americans are going to be left behind. This is part of biden’s agreement with the bearded terrorists. They can be used in exchange for money, or placement of “refugees” in the USA, in a ratio of 10 Americans for 1000 “refugees.”

CRAF doesn't go to KAB..

"The planes won’t fly into Hamid Karzai International Airport, the scene of chaos since the fall of the pro-U.S. Afghan government to Taliban forces a week ago.

The commercial airliners will, however, be used to move passengers from interim staging bases around the world, with the goal of enhancing the U.S. military’s ability to focus on operations in and out of Kabul, officials said."

Would suspect if AF needs more flights they will call up ANG Herc Squadrons, two of which have Afghan hazard experience.
