Victor Davis Hanson: If Biden were a Republican, Dems in Congress would have impeached him. They should Biden keeps repeating that he was bound by Trump’s planned withdrawal. Really?
Fox News ^ | August 22,2021 | Victor Davis Hanson

The American-nurtured Afghan military of the last 20 years that had suffered thousands of prior casualties evaporated in a few hours in the encirclement of Kabul.

Enlistees apparently calculated that their own meager chances with the premodern Taliban were still better than fighting as a dependency of the postmodern United States — despite its powerful diversity training programs.

Forces more powerful than the Taliban, in places far more strategic, will now leverage an ideologically driven but predictably incompetent administration, a woke Pentagon and politically weaponized intelligence communities.

Why not, when President Joe Biden trashes both American frackers and the Saudis — only to beg the Kingdom to rush to export more of its hated oil before the U.S. midterms?

Why not, when Biden asks Russia’s Vladimir Putin to request that Russian-related hackers be a little less rowdy in their selection of U.S. targets?

And why not, when our own military jousts with the windmills of "white supremacy" as Afghans fall from U.S. military jets in fatal desperation to reach such a supposedly racist nation?

Biden keeps repeating that he was bound by former President Donald Trump’s planned withdrawal.

Really?

A mercurial Trump repeatedly demonstrated that he was willing to use air power to protect U.S. personnel and to bomb an Islamic would-be caliphate. The Taliban knew that and so struck when Trump was gone.

Biden claims he was bound by Trump’s decision to withdraw and thus cannot be blamed for his reckless operation of a predetermined departure. But all Biden has done since entering office is destroy Trump pacts, overturning past agreements on energy leases, protocols with Latin America and Mexico on border security, and pipeline contracts.

Tony Blair’s condemnation of the withdrawal from Afghanistan – based, he wrote, upon an “imbecilic political slogan about ending the ‘forever wars’”, which just happens to be what Joe Biden ran on in 2020 – marks the complete transformation of elite perceptions of the Biden presidency. The establishment consensus, desperate to be rid of Donald Trump, was that the veteran Democrat would be a return to stability. Instead, the haunting scenes of chaos at Kabul airport have led to denunciation even by Left-wing admirers – by almost every faction in the foreign policy debate, in fact, from those who think we should stay to those who believe we should never have gone there.

The United States’ tawdry, hopelessly mishandled withdrawal matters to the entire Western community because it has grim humanitarian consequences, Islamists have gained a base of operations and our global competitors are emboldened.

Dumbkirk Biden!:

Instead we have Assistant Democrats trying to help him finish the fundamental transformation of the USA into North Mexico with two monstrosity bills already passed in the Senate, now in the House with 40 GOP lining up to assist in case any Democrats get cold feet.

These are the Assistant Democrats that enabled it.

Dan Sullivan (R-AK) Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) Mike Crapo (R-ID) Roy Blunt (R-MO) Richard Burr (R-NC) Deb Fischer (R-NE) Lindsey Graham (R-SC) Rob Portman (R-OH) Thom Tillis (R-NC) Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) Jim Risch (R-ID) Chuck Grassley (R-IA) Bill Cassidy (R-LA) Kevin Cramer (R-ND) Roger Wicker (R-MS) Mitch McConnell (R-KY) John Hoeven (R-ND) Susan Collins (R-ME) Mitt Romney (R-UT)

Good article worth reading

In a sane world, the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the secretary of defense would resign. We have heard for too long their careerist boasts about assigning climate change as their chief challenge. For too long they have virtue-signaled their critical race theory credentials to Congress. For too long they have bragged about rooting out alleged white supremacists from their ranks. For too long they have sparred with journalists while fighting Twitter wars and issuing cartoonish commercials attesting to their woke credentials.

The Biden cabal is so ignorant and incompetent that Dumbkirk is far too gentle of a mock. These incompetent commissars will turn Kagul into Bataan.

He may have felt “bound by Trump’s Planned withdrawal” but if so he should have kept to trump’s planned withdrawal.

We must not impeach Biden unless Harris and Pelosi are also removed from office.

I think we are set to lose most of what we have accomplished in the Far East, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe. The US is converting itself to jus another country like France or Italy and ceding control of the world, including America, to China.

Wow. Makes the excuse that he did things the way he did, and didn’t think he could’ve done it another way, because of a previous Administration? Just wow.

I wonder what FB would do if I copied & pasted the Taliban Employee of the Month on my page? Yup, Mullah Biden. Brings a different view of the donkey as the democrats’ mascot, poor animal they can be stubborn, yet are brighter then Joe. The democrats’ mascot should be, not the donkey or even the mule, but the Mullah, using Joe’s face.

There is a MUCH BETTER historical analog to Biden’s feckless actions in/with Afghanistan than Chamberlin & Munich or 1975 Saigon. It is 22 June 1941 when trusted Herr Adolph Hitler betrayed Joseph Stalin in launching Operation Barbarossa, the largest (to that date) land invasion against the Soviet Union! In hindsight, it is/was unbelievable that Stalin trusted Hitler/Germany to keep the solemn Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact non-aggression pact of 23 August 1939 and make few to no provisions otherwise!

The analog is that Stalin could not believe that Hitler would so betray him! In spite of Hitlers writings, campaigns & violence against German Communists, treaty breaking multiple times in the 1930s, Stalin still felt that this treaty would hold! Such was JoeB’s faith that the Taliban would allow him a peaceful and orderly withdrawal from 20 years in Afghanistan! Like Stalin, JoeB had to retreat for days to regain composure over this ‘shock’ of betrayal and reality!

Just like Stalin, JoeB has had a multitude of warnings that his decisions were unwise. Just like Stalin, JoeB is finding that he is permitting needless deaths and losses of assets from his heedless decisions. Just like Stalin, JoeB is finding the WORLD cares not for your assumptions but does find your INACTIONS speaking volumes!

The reason a lot of the Republicans won’t impeach sick Beijing cheating jo has is because they to voted for him! Makes sense why they are slow walking this impeachment! Or demanding resignations from his administration and leaders in the Pentagon!

That is one of the many reasons my wife and I don’t use FB.
