Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that former President Donald Trump and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s “surrender agreement with the Taliban” led directly to the unfolding situation of the Taliban taking over Afghanistan as the U.S. military withdraws.
Cheney said, “We know the Taliban has never renounced al Qaeda. This is one of the things that was such an indefensible step by the Trump administration. When President Trump and Secretary of State Pompeo designed to sign a surrender agreement with the Taliban.”

Outside of occupation, what would have been the alternative? The government of Afghanistan was a bunch of crooks.
Because McCarthy is on her side.
Either she knows she’s not going to be re-elected so getting her punches in.
Or her big mouth is an attempt to get RINOs, Democrats, and Moderates to carry her through to re-election.

Because he periodically needs her vote, such as when the next 2 votes come up on the 3.5 trillion “green” deal to be voted on, as well as the voter election bill. The Pubs have to hold the whole Pub coalition together so none of the RINO’s vote with the Dems on this, as they can and probably have threatened to do, which is why the Pubs allowed the infrastructure bill to be passed with RINO help in the Senate in order to not have them vote the same on the 2 upcoming more important bills. They are hoping that Manchin and the other moderate lady whose name I can’t remember will vote against them.
All the Pubs plus these two would stop these bills, but the price was that the Pubs had to go along with the infrastructure bill in order to keep Manchin & Co. on their side. We’ll see if that gambit works when we see how Manchin & Co. votes on the upcoming 2 bills. It appears that Manchin has been bought off with a plum thrown to his wife by Biden.
So he will be the Benedict Arnold of history and sell out his country. He will have to live for the rest of his life with the designation of a traitor to his country by allowing it to become a socialist’s paradise and his name will live in infamy, but that might not be enough to stop him from selling out.

I don’t know how exactly, but I’m pretty sure Liz, industrial military complex, Daddy, and the Bushes have some incestuous reason for every nasty thing she says or does.

The agreement between the Taliban and the US negotiated by Pompeo was a problematic agreement. There were no provisions in the agreement for the US to remain at BAF. All military forces would be removed from that installation, and any ability to quickly project power in support of counterterrorism, provide contractor services for aircraft maintenance, training, etc. would end. The US will now have very limited ability to discern ISIS and Al-Qaeda terrorist activities in that country.
With that said - let’s be honest why the Afghan civilian leadership were largely cut out of the agreement - they were corrupt. Afghan military units reported not being paid, supplies were lacking and slow to arrive at Afghani military forces in outlying provinces, etc. These things were occurring before and after the agreement was finalized.
The agreement also stipulated that several thousand Taliban prisoners held by Afghanistan would be released. Pompeo pushed for the release of these prisoners, made no demand for Al-Qaeda suspected prisoners to be turned over to the US, etc.
And with *that* said - Biden had options to address and push for changes in the agreement, even if unilateral decisions had to be made in order to protect US citizens. Blaming President Trump et al for the method of the wind down of the US military presence at BAF, the horrific evacuation of Americans and selected Afghan citizens is just ass covering by Biden. State Department disagreeing with DOD, disagreeing with intelligence agencies on if/when the Taliban would take over is also not President Trump’s fault. Those were operational decisions and intelligence community failures that rest squarely on Biden.
Liz Cheney is delusional if she thinks there is substantial support for anything but a military presence to solely do counterterrorism and provide training, contracting aircraft maintenance, etc.

Trump is no longer president Ms. Cheney. Biden is responsible. Stop being a flying monkey for the democrats.
