Gubernatorial candidate Allen West said his wife, Angela, was wrongfully arrested and jailed in the Dallas area late Friday night.
According to West, his wife, who was driving with their young grandson, was suspected of drunk driving. However, he said she wasn’t drinking alcohol before the incident.
In a video posted early Saturday morning via Twitter, West said his wife had gone to dinner at PF Chang’s in Dallas while he was visiting Waco. He said his wife and the people at dinner confirmed that she only had water and lemonade.
Even more, West argued that his wife shouldn’t have been separated from their grandson.
“The thing that upsets me the most is that they took my wife, arrested her, and left my grandson with two Dallas police officers,” he said.
West said police were able to contact a relative, who picked up the child from the scene.
“I support the thin blue line, but this is insidious,” he said.
Around 4 p.m. Saturday, West said that his wife had been released from jail.

Call me suspicious, but I think this is intended to raise West’s profile, since he’s getting destroyed by Abbott in the polling (something like 70-30).
This seems like what the Left is doing to Larry Elder and Hoiman Cain. They’re despicable.
This is horrible! Someone just ran the plates to see who she was for an arrest, there was no suspicious activity, I bet.

since I do not live in Texas, I don’t really have enough knowledge of this particular situation to really have an opinion.

By now Allan knows if his wife had a pbt, if she had a real breathalyzer, if she had blood testing via a search warrant or consent, and he also knows the probable numbers. He most likely knows if she was cooperative. Is he reporting this/the results? Or is he just complaining that a woman with the last name, “West,” was detained at a police station?
A hand-held preliminary breath test administered at the time of the stop would show if she’d been drinking alcohol or not, although they are not admissible evidence of alcohol level.

Agree, and I would also claim the same, since saying anything else is incriminating.
It does not matter if she was drunk or not as he is in damage control due the incident and the press will continually publish the story.
More likely I’m right, PROVIDING that the Texas Legislature actually meets tomorrow (they now have a quorum) and passes Abbott’s bills (which they will do, now that they know he’s serious). Abbott will be next to impossible to beat if that happens.
Also, the strategy from the Left regarding West is to try to have him take down Abbott, as West would be far easier to defeat with a Democrat.

No. DPD is poor, they have been in the red for like the last 40 years. (wasting robots on pos doesn’t help) The city council and commissioners pretty much treat them like dirt.
Their academy is tops, comparable to NYPD’s. Lots of people attend and go to other municipalities for far better pay/benefits.
Prescription meds will get you a DUI!
The city of Dallas cannot afford one for every patrol car. Believe it or not. Dallas is a dem city/county.
