Event: Because of potential security threats outside the gates at the Kabul airport, we are advising U.S. citizens to avoid traveling to the airport and to avoid airport gates at this time unless you receive individual instructions from a U.S. government representative to do so.
U.S. citizens requesting assistance in departing the country who have not yet to completed the Repatriation Assistance Request for each traveler in their group should do so as soon as possible. Spouses and minor children of U.S. citizens in Afghanistan who are awaiting immigrant visas should also complete this form if they wish to depart. Do not call the U.S. Embassy in Kabul for details or updates about the flight. This form is the only way to communicate interest in flight options.
We will contact registered U.S. citizens as the security situation changes to provide further instructions.
Actions to take:
Be aware of your surroundings at all times, especially in large crowds.
Follow the instructions of local authorities including movement restrictions related to curfews.
Have a contingency plan for emergencies and review the Traveler’s Checklist.
Monitor local media for breaking events and adjust your plans based on new information.
Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program(STEP) to receive Alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency.

Yesterday Biden said Americans can travel to the airport unimpeded.

Uh, could have sworn that pedo joe told us yesterday that all folks had to do was show their US passport to the local Uber/Lyft folks and the tall-EEE-bahn gate guards and they’d be just fine getting to their waiting airplane. Weird huh?
There has never been such duplicity as there is now between what is happening in Afghanistan and what our president is saying. Biden is going to have to nationalize the media and control where they can go and every word they mutter. The media has dug its own grave, which is inevitable when the fascists come to power.

BBC News: More large crowds have been reported at the gates of Kabul airport today, with the US now telling its nationals to avoid travel to the airport due to “potential security threats”.
The US is not the only country to raise concerns about the situation outside. Switzerland’s foreign ministry said the situation around the airport had “deteriorated significantly in the last few hours”, with large numbers of people outside, adding that it has stopped Swiss flights scheduled to leave the Kabul today.
The German government, meanwhile, has warned that the “security situation at the airport is still extremely dangerous and access to the airport is often not possible”.
The exact details of what is happening at the airport remain unclear.

Ward said, “I’m sitting here, for 12 hours in the airport, eight hours on the airfield, and I haven’t seen a single U.S. plane take off. How on earth are you going to evacuate 50,000 people in the next two weeks. It just, it can’t happen.”
