The UK is in a race against time to help its own citizens and Afghans who have worked with the British flee Afghanistan.
It comes after the US president indicated rescue missions must be completed within 10 days.
Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Joe Biden suggested US efforts to rescue Americans from the country could be over by the end of the month in a move that is likely to present a similar deadline for British armed forces.
The move comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the UK would have to "manage the consequences" of the US withdrawal from the central Asian country.
After chairing an emergency government meeting about the current situation, he said: "We went into Afghanistan to support and help protect the United States.
"So when the United States decides emphatically to withdraw in the way that they have, clearly, we're going to have to manage the consequences."
Mr Biden has faced fierce criticism for his decision to remove troops, as the Taliban have now taken control of the country 20 years after being ousted.
According to The Times, Mr Johnson feels "let down" by the US president over the way he handled the withdrawal.
Mr Johnson used the meeting of the 30-nation group on Friday to pursue his own diplomatic push for international leaders to take a united front in dealing with the Taliban.

If our allies have any sense they will ingore him and continue rescuing their citizens without us.
Biden’s orders put us into this trap at Kabul airport. If we do anything offensive, anywhere, by land or air, they shell the airport and not one more plane leaves.
At some point even Joe will realize he has been played for a fool by the anti-MAGA’s and the American Left. It seems fitting he will spend the next phase of his life 24/7 thinking about that.
He will end in a rocking chair licking imaginary ice cream and dreaming of little girls on his lap.

The words “Joe” and “realize” are incompatible.
You are likely correct.
All we know for the moment is that he can haltingly read from a teleprompter and somewhat speak ordinary words that were almost certainly composed by another individual - alternatively, he is at best having trouble repeating what someone is saying in his earpiece.
To your point, "realizing", or arriving at conclusions would seem to require an even higher brain function.
Beyond the "steal", it is a sad time for those American voters that selected Biden/Harris, assuming those voters are even paying notice.
