“And this has nothing to do with punishing Russia. It’s about us.”

Then we’ll just have to learn not to waste ammo.

One shot, one hit. Shoot and scoot.

Hmm....sounds like existing permanent importers can keep doing it. Headline is misleading.

Hope this is true but it looks like the panic buying is already happening. Guess I’ll stay away from the range for a while and hang on to what I’ve got.

My ammo crate is full of boxes of Tula. The cheap stuff is what fouls your barrel.

Can’t reload steel cased ammo. But you can with the brass cased 7.62x39 that’s not made in Russia. Costs more of course.

I'm on the internet right now trying to but ammo. It's gone. Hang on to what you've got.

Yup.
They are very good rocket engines.
We sometimes forget the Russians were the first country to go to space.

You can reload steel cased ammo. Most of the imported stuff is Berdan primed, so you can't deprime the cases with a standard Boxer center punch. Some guys deprime hydraulically (put water in the case, followed by a close-fitting wood dowel, and hit dowel with mallet - messy business). Reportedly, you can resize the cases using standard American dies, which I'm guessing would work for seating, crimping, etc. also (although the steel cases might be harder on the dies than brass). I do not know where to find Berdan primers or if priming requires different method(s)/equipment (interesting footnote, Berdan primers are an American invention ;^)...

Russian pipeline permission, OK! American pipeline, bad. Cheap russian steel case for US gun owners, so bad. Everything they do is political calculus.

Hey at least russia and china have a fresh market for their steel case 5.56 in Afghanistan.

You underestimate the hatred Democrats have for our right to keep and bear arms. They MUST eliminate it if the rest of their plan for the country is to move forward. The POS and his handlers not to mention virtually the entire federal bureaucracy are afraid of getting shot when they fully implement their tyranny. The midnight knock on the door might result in some of the law enforcement types not going home to THEIR families rather than gun owners and conservatives being torn from theirs.

Try Palmetto State Armory.

They still have some 7.62X54MMR

Don't have anything that shoots that.

All their bulk 7.62x39, .223, 5.56, and .308 are wiped out.

And who knows when those calibers will be back in stock. Especially now. 😔

If you are ever able, may I recommend a Mosin-Nagant, it shoots 7.62x54. I have a Mosin-Nagant I picked up for $99 back in 2010.

It was vintage Soviet Surplus, bayonet, belts, ammo pouches, it had it all.

One of my best value buys ever.

It will shoot anything you feed it for as long as you need to.

Nothing I have read indicates it is recommended or a good idea.

If you pay more for brass you can reload multiple times, safely.

As you might have gathered from my post, I have not personally attempted to reload steel cases, or Berdan-primed cases of any kind. However, both operations are potentially feasible, which may be worth knowing, depending on the circumstances. The same can be said for a lot of reloading techniques, with which many reloaders are unfamiliar: for example, reloading with a hand-held press (or no press), using powder 'dippers' to measure propellant, etc...

;^)

Now it makes sense. Somebody has to make ammunition for all the M-16s we left behind. The Russians can’t supply both the US and Taliban. Plus 10% for the big guy!
