Military personnel fired tear gas to control the crowds of Afghans trying to gain access to Kabul airport Friday, a day after the Pentagon said that order was being restored at the site and evacuation flights from Afghanistan would be accelerating.
Soldiers have also fired into the air to disperse the crowd, according to a senior Western official. It was unclear as to whether the soldiers were American; British, Afghan and other Western troops are also stationed at the airport.
There was no immediate comment from the U.S. military.
Soldiers are also going just outside the airport perimeter, which is surrounded by Taliban, to disperse crowds and clear the way for families struggling to get in, videos clips taken by passengers show.

Wonder how long the Taliban will allow the airport to remain open. Also wonder how those troops will be resupplied and withdrawn. Since the Biden cabal abandoned the fortified, secure US Air force Base at Barham, those troops do not have a safe portal. Sure Biden paid the Taliban leadership a fortune to allow their departure but who knows? Many of the power drunk, bitter Taliban who lost many friens=ds and relatives in the war want another crack at the Americans. They know their history. They remember that a 5,000 man British army invaded Afghanistan in the 19th century and only one man got out alive.
Why are soldiers dispersing crowds of Afghans to let other Afghans get to the airport?
Afghans gathered at the airport have NO PLACE ELSE TO GO.
They are trapped and might as well die trying to get in.
Are we going to kill Afghans to save Afghans?
Which fleeing Afghans are better than other fleeing Afghans?
None of this insanity makes any sense.
