Former senior military and security figures say PM’s decision to depart was ‘dereliction of duty’

Boris Johnson’s departure on holiday on Saturday, despite public warnings the Taliban would be in Kabul within hours, has been criticised as a “dereliction of duty” by former senior military and security figures.

It emerged on Monday that the prime minister and the foreign secretary, Dominic Raab, took their summer holidays at the same time before both taking the decision to return....

...Major Gen Charlie Herbert, who undertook three tours of duty in Afghanistan between 2007-18, said: “It is almost impossible to believe that the prime minister departed on holiday on Saturday; he should hang his head in shame. It is dereliction of duty on an extraordinary scale...

...Adm Lord West, the former first sea lord and chief of the naval staff, said: “I would be extremely surprised and indeed appalled if the JIC and assessments staffs were not predicting a very rapid collapse of the Afghan regime in the face of Taliban pressure by Saturday.

“In view of that I find the prime minister’s decision to go on holiday surprising. I also find the foreign secretary’s absence baffling....

It suggests a coordinated failure.

Pathetic. Just like Biden. At least Boris didn’t have a photoshopped picture making it appear he was paying attention. He took his vacation honestly.

“It suggests a coordinated failure.”

It sure seems that way. I can’t remember a single case where a president simply ignored a crisis like this...but now two leaders doing the same? Weird. But what’s the upside of this debacle, other than finishing off the 500 years that Western countries dominated the world. And perhaps that’s it.

From what I understand, China is the globalist model for the world. Everybody who has used the words, Build Back Better is in league with the globalists.

I think Johnson and our other allies were caught flat footed by SloJo’s and Milley Vanillie’s incompetence. The other leaders of the Free World actually trusted the US BS about the situation there. That’s why there are so many civilians from everywhere stuck there.

I’m sure they’ve learned their lesson now and will plan their foreign policy actions separate from anything the *resident says.
