Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev have discussed the situation in Afghanistan by telephone, the Kremlin’s press-service said on Sunday.

"The situation in Afghanistan was discussed in detail. It was agreed the Russian and Uzbek agencies and ministries concerned would step up cooperation," the statement runs.

The two presidents will keep in touch further on, the press-service added.

After the pullout of the bulk of the Western military contingent from Afghanistan the movement Taliban (outlawed in Russia) launched a massive offensive on all fronts towards Kabul. According to the television broadcaster Al Arabiya, Afghanistan’s former Interior Minister Ahmad Jalali assumed the duties of an interim administration. Acting Interior Minister Abdul Sattar Mirzakval told the television broadcaster TOLO News that the handover of power would be peaceful. Earlier, the Russian embassy said the situation in Kabul was "somewhat strained, but no war is on in the city.".

Take in any non-muslimes. Turn back all muzzies unless you want a cadre of jihadists within your borders.

He gave us all the help and advice you can imagine. Let us have free use of their base and let us use rail across Russia to supply things.

But they were smart enough to get out of there after 10 years.

Putin won’t interfere until islamists enter south Kazakhstan.
Central Asia are on their own. And I think islamists will start with Turkmenistan most weak but rich on natural gas country and populated with turkomans. So let Turkey to spend blood and treasure there fighting with islamists. Then Kirgizstan and Tagikistan as also weak. Next Uzbekistan.
Last will be Kazakhstan and there Putin will interfere.
