McAuliffe ad hits Youngkin on COVID-19 approach: 'Don't Florida our Virginia'

Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe (D) released an ad on Friday taking aim at his Republican challenger Glenn Youngkin (R) over his approach to the coronavirus pandemic.

The minute-long ad, titled “Don’t Florida Our Virginia,” begins with Youngkin responding to a question about if he would model his approach to the pandemic after that of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).

“I think Governor DeSantis has done a lot of really impressive things to lead,” Youngkin says in response. “And this is where I look to lead as governor."

What happened is Florida reported Friday, Saturday and Sunday together and CDC reported all 3 days as 2 days per DeSantis. So now it’s fixed. I live in Northern Virginia and the media is very anti DeSantis. The people I talk to think he is a killer. I’m not making this up. I know one lady well who moved from Florida two years ago and she gets very angry at the mere mention of his name and thinks he should be on trial. The ad should be very effective.

Terry McAuliffe like all liberals, can't stand to see the success of Republicans. McAliffe's warning "Don't Florida our Virginia" is in direct response to Ron DeSantis success in keeping American Values and running his state Constitutionally, which Democratic Governors have not.
