Israel reported 5,946 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday according to data published by the Health Ministry on Thursday, the day after Israel approved tightening proof of immunity and gathering restrictions as the delta variant continues to spread nationwide.
According to the ministry, the number of serious coronavirus cases in Israel topped Tuesday's six-month high, with 421 cases. There are currently 42,203 active coronavirus cases in Israel.
More than 5.8 million Israelis have received their first vaccine; 5.4 million have received their second vaccine. 716,618 Israelis have received their third coronavirus vaccine.
On Wednesday, Israel's coronavirus cabinet approved expanding the Green Pass proof of immunity program to apply to Israelis aged three and up, as well as limiting gatherings. The new restrictions will go into effect next Wednesday.

Completely impossible.. the vaccines work 100%. Apparently they aren’t wearing several mask and social distancing in their homes and they haven’t received the 3rd - 30th booster shots.
In reality, I don’t think there is a any surge of break thru cases.
It’s just the establishment realizing it will probably be easier to increase their profits by pushing a 3rd shot onto the fearful vaccinated and their children rather than forcing the unvaccinated to take one.
Probably right.. gotta make that profit from somewhere.

Probably exactly right. I have a feeling there will be a final push this fall to get every last penny of profit. Compliance loop after compliance loop, empty threat over empty threat. Then for one reason or another they will not be approved. The conspirators will have pockets full of cash and the lab rats will have no legal recourse since it was experimental after all. Shortly after they will come out with a therapeutics approach that will essentially be re-branded version of already available therapeutics. Everyone will forget and rush for the next magic cure.
And they are a nation that is heavily vaccinated also.

9 million people in Israel, 42,000 active cases, or .05% of the population has Covid. Let’s freak out.
So, 42K+ cases of COVID, 421 serious or 1%. This is not deaths but serious cases. Is this not a GOOD thing? Is herd immunity around the corner? Will there not be 42K more people that are 7X more protected from COVID than those who received the vaccine? This seems to be what countries should be hoping for.

the vaccines were never said to work 100%, 93=95% against death, lower percentages against hospitalization and lower against sniffles, with J^J and Moderna seeming to have the best performance against delta.
Point in fact, vaccines do excellent against the alpha variant (original wuhan). Not so much against a variant that is perfecting immune escape - that would be vaccinated immune escape and unvaccinated immune escape

The more people there are in the area being counted who are vaccinated, the more the percentage of breakthrough cases will rise, because there is a smaller and smaller percentage that are unvaccinated. (It could also be reflection of the fact that there are fewer hospitalizations and deaths overall.)
This is why the NY Times did their own study a different way, a method that does not make people wonder why the percentage of breakthrough cases is going up:
They used the number of breakthroughs and the vaccination rate over time to estimate rate of hospitalizations and deaths for each group in every state of the U.S. for which data was available.
In those results, the unvaccinated were hospitalized at five times the rate of the vaccinated, and died at eight times the rate.
Here's the internet version of the story. The one in the print edition was spectacular, with data for almost every state.
Undoubtedly, the vaccines lose some of their potency over time, but it is not as drastic as usually portrayed. To use an absurd example, if there were only two people in the hospital and they were both breakthrough cases, the rate would be 100 percent.
