Norfolk-based USNS Comfort was deployed to help treat patients in the early days of the pandemic. Mississippi health officials hope it can be deployed again.
NORFOLK, Va. — Hampton Roads could send help to one of the COVID-19 pandemic's hardest-hit states.
Mississippi has requested the federal government send a military hospital ship such as the Norfolk-based USNS Comfort to help its overloaded hospitals with COVID-19 patients, state health official Jim Craig said Wednesday....
The University of Mississippi Medical Center has 127 COVID-19 patients, including 26 children, Dean LouAnn Woodward said Wednesday. About 90% of them are unvaccinated, she said.
The dean warned, "The Mississippi hospital system will fail within the next five to seven or 10 days if the current trajectory continues.”

I did a look-see at MS and as of Aug 9 they’re in the weeds:
” Dobbs said there were zero ICU beds at Level 1-3 hospitals, and more than 200 patients were waiting in ERs for a hospital room.
As of Aug. 8, there were 1349 COVID patients in Mississippi hospitals, 205 of them on ventilators.”

My daughter needed medical attention in NYC yesterday and went to NYU hospital. They took her in immediately with no waiting.

follow on article from Newsweek says UMMC is setting up covid ‘ward’ in their parking garage - biggest issue is lack of critical care staffing. It doesn’t say it in this article, but last year I think that staffing was bumped in other areas by the NG, yes?

Will the result be different this time? Treated fewer than 200 while in NY and multiple field hospitals fewer than 100.
New York City is in New York, not Mississippi.

The ship makes headlines, of course. And, it well supports the libturd narrative.
But, if the issue is getting medical services to the State, it seems to me the Mobile Field Hospitals would be much quicker.
Agree....Field Hospitals are the better choice. Go back to the 1918 epidemic. OUTSIDE is the better choice to start with.
